I’m with Al on this one! Sobriety is a struggle for many and her journey is her own to share if she chooses. If you don’t like a person there’s no need to make a joke out of their struggle with substance abuse. All the other stuff have at it but this is a touchy subject for many. 😢

I get they aren't too fund of Stacy Dash, but being nasty, and ridiculing someone for being sober and clean is not what's up. It's actually pretty vile what they are saying about her overcoming her struggles and I don't give a damn if she supported Trump or not. I respect her for doing this because a lot of other people cannot conquer addiction, which is a very serious thing by the way.

There's a time to drag her for her asinine political views and remarks but this time all that can be left aside to ease up on her a little and give her props for making a positive change in her life. Sometimes it's our struggles that help us find common ground with one another - and as someone who works in the mental health/drugs & alcohol field, I can attest to the fact that addiction and substance use is sadly a thread that ties too many of us and those around us together, and overcoming these issues should always be applauded. Props where props are due.

Im 5 years sober, and we as black folks should stop publicly vilifying other black folks who think or speak differently or have different political ideologies. We are so quick to tear each other down instead of uplifting each other. It's time to celebrate the differences in our community instead of ostracizing those who don't fit the "mold" It's a horrible feeling to love your community but it doesn't love you back.
