I just demonstrated another stack and slash placement for a Zoom class I taught...I like seeing another version...I also finished the way you did but use fusible fleece... which works very well for placemats

I love the idea you presented. Think you should have gone into how you actually slashed them (and why. could I make more cuts? did you have 4 pieces because you had 4 layers?) and then the order in which they need to be sewn together. You also skipped the step of closing the opening you left when you stitched back to front. Your voice is also VERY quiet and I needed to turn the volume up all the way in order to hear you but then when the music started playing, it was incredibly loud. Very nice idea, pretty fabric, keep up the nice work, just give more details please.

Great idea that makes each placemat different but they still all go together. Slashing is always fun. I like the 4 slashes as it makes it very quick and easy finish
