Charles Haddon (C.H.) Spurgeon (June 19, 1834 January 31, 1892) was a British Reformed Baptist preacher who remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations, among whom he is still known as the "Prince of Preachers." In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to around 10,000,000 people, often up to 10 times a week at different places. His sermons have been translated into many languages. Spurgeon was the pastor of the New Park Street Chapel in London for 38 years. In 1857, he started a charity organization called Spurgeon's which now works globally. He also founded Spurgeon's College, which was named after him after his death.
Spurgeon was a prolific author of many types of works including sermons, an autobiography, a commentary, books on prayer, a devotional, a magazine, and more. Many sermons were transcribed as he spoke and were translated into many languages during his lifetime. Arguably, no other author, Christian or otherwise, has more material in print than C.H. Spurgeon.

I was just thinking of all the times that Jesus told his disciples not to fear. I'm so thankful that He told them (and now tells us) over and over not to fear, but to trust in Him. Praise to the Lord; He is always with those who repent and believe, trusting wholly in Him.

We are only commanded to fear one “thing”, FEAR THE LORD 🎉🎉🎉 This is wisdom and knowledge. Remember the Genesis garden where Adam and Eve walked with God and HE talked him, this IS the right relationship of FEAR through JESUS but when they sinned they were afraid (full of fear) and hid themselves from GOD, who come seeking that which was lost. CS has been a great resource to stay in the word when I’m driving or at work with Bluetooth technology. I used to imagine Bible believers walking around in the 60’s clutching their Bibles, but, I’d say even those times pale in comparison to the culture today. Just my opinion.

Wow… this sermon Charles Spurgeon preached so long ago is as relevant today as it was during his life. Fear does creep in our lives along with anxiety like a snake, but thanks be to the Holy Spirit that interferes in the lives of those that accepted Christ as their savior to not let us fall into despair and hopelessness. Glory to the most high and only God.
