Thanks Eric, you make it all look so simple but I know from experience that it takes a lot of skill to be as fluid as you are with SketchUp and LayOut.

Thank you Erik, I very appreciate that you choose example which would highlight the difficulty of creating a clipping ask from complex shapes. This is why it would be so nice to have more tools for droughting and for fill/ for fill manipulation - tool similar to solid tool operations (exclude one fill from another, add fill to another....). Do you think that TRIMBLE Inc is consider to develop droughting tools within LO?

Fantastic! I’m just starting to get into Layout so this got the creative juices flowing. Very powerful tool but I would not have thought of this approach without some help - so thank you!

Thank you! I have wanted to fade out sections of the view, but am not proficient enough in fog tools to get what I wanted, and this is perfect.

Very useful tutorial, thanks.

Great thanks Eric - did you create the faded SketchUp style, by using fog?

Select the viewport and at the bottom of the SketchUp Model panel uncheck the Background checkbox 👍

I cannot find cliping-mask in Layout2023...
@sinyaoono Жыл бұрын
I got it NOW. It needs both viewport and rectangle are selected.

@@sinyaoono Yes. LayOut needs to know what you want clipped (viewport or image) and what shape you want to use to clip/mask it with ;)

I enjoyed it, but I am confused 😬

@@SketchUp Thank you Eric. I believe that it all comes down to practicing it a few times. Your tutorial was great as always!!

Obviously someone with good knowledge of Sketchup, but not as educational as the usual Sketchup-videos In my opinion a bit fast, too many shortcuts (not using standard menus) and seemed a bit unprepared for an educational video TL/DR: Definitely informative, but less educational compared to other Sketchup-videos

Tell us how you really feel, Karen. We can’t wait to see your SU tutorials 😂😂

@@HBSuccess Hi Ken. I'm not knowledgeable enough in SU to make tutorials, hence why I watch these. But I can definitely comment on which videos teaches me something and which videos shows the possibilities in Sketchup by a skilled user...without it teaching me anything/much. How about you, your SU tutorial videos were sorely lacking...ie. non-existent...
@OveToranger Жыл бұрын
@Eric S Definitely shows a whole lot of the possibilities in Sketchup for a skilled user, but way out of my league 😄👍

You can replay it full screen multiple times to get the nuances. As an overview it's fine, I wasn't aware of the techniques he uses, didn't know clipping masks existed, thus I like it. To do it, however, needs practice. Too many SU videos I watch and do it, then not need the technique for years, and have to relearn it.
