I had a doom build with the Chiron bow recently. Was doing about 800+ doom damage. Was EXTREMLY disappointed when I found out each arrow didn't do the Zeus special.

I think the problem with how doom feels is because every other damage effect happens instantly. So when your delaying your damage and it doesn't kill it feels bad to go back to reapply and wait. On top of the fact that damage is defense when it happens right away. You kill things quickly they can't hurt you. So you end up dodging more or taking more damage while waiting for your damage to go off. I honestly think the base doom damage needs to be higher or activate faster. Also i think it would be fun to have a hammer upgrade for doom Lucifer attack that says your doom effects always do 666 damage and can be applied up to three times once every .75 seconds. Or how ever long they they choose to balance it.

I look at it the other way around: They can't hurt you if you're dodging around a ton, and you only need to hit them once with the tiniest quick attack for massive damage.

It's already almost tripled though, by impending doom(more time to stack, plus it only takes a pom or two to get to 100%). It could use a buff, (like make it pomable) but it definitely isn't as weak as people think.

I wonder if the speedrun future of this game is in seeded. It will add an aspect of crafting the best seed and make the game into a normal speedruning game like any other. RN it's a question of who highrolls the highest and on average it's not someone that is recognised in the scene and that brings the whole question on weather the run is not secretly seeded, cuz it's a highroll by virtue of being a new record. I don't mean to diminish the achievements of anyone, but the rng already does that to some degree.

Speedrunning at the highest level will always be mainly differentiated by RNG, seeded runs would quickly only have 2-5 seconds difference between them which can get boring.

I’m pretty sure the reason you were seeing a difference in damage is because of the Trap Damage at 34:07, you lost High Confidence. -25% +20% and the result is the feeling that Ravenous Will wasn’t working with Doom even though it was.

Curse of agony with eternal chamber, dire misfortune and impending doom had to be one of the most interesting runs I've ever done. I even looked out and got a 30% attack speed increase from Hermes and pressure points from Artemis. When that spear came down it took a MINIMUM quarter health chunk off of Hades. It was almost like I had Thanatos's Mark of death at my fingertips. Lol

I did this same build but with Rama bow, and you get the Daedalus hammer that increases number of arrows fired in your special and a Hermes boon to increase special speed. Ended up stacking for 1300. Was a ton of fun, almost died due to extreme arrogance with how much damage I was dealing

I really kinda hate the gun playstyle, because for the normal aspects it's kinda annoying to have to reload in the heat of battle. Coupled with the 0 stuns on enemies that just made it tough for me to enjoy. Lucifer is kinda ok for me, because the beam ramps and the bombs can be placed beforehand, but still not so super insane. Once I saw the hestia run on here, though, I was sold. That's my go-to now; just critting people with dash strikes all day.

Adamant Rail was the weapon that got Haelian do a sub-6 or 5 mins run. Using Zagreus aspect and Spreadshot Daedalus upgrade. You take full artemis build on attack and dash then Hermes' Multiple Dash. I used to do this until Lucifer aspect arrived.

It's really not too bad! But I'd swap it out for the Rama bow, and put doom stacks on special. Then hope you get the Daedalus hammer for 4 extra shots. I ended up doing stacks of 1300, it was pretty solid lol

I play M&K and on some weapons I leave the Attack at Cursor and at some I dont. If I could always AutoAim Attack and Cast/Special at cursor it would be actually the best. With bow and ray I feel like I miss out on a lot of dmg when I attack on cursor. But I love that I can dash in whichever direction and attack in a different one

the thing that finally made me switch to controller was not being able to catch any legendary fish. I was at around 60 clears, over 100 runs when I finally made the switch lmao. My gameplay improved for all weapons except shield because it was hard to control where I wanted to bull rush. Still trying to get used to the rail special and using festive fog though

Dooms delay killed me in hades fight. he got a hit in with just a fly's eyelash of health left as the doom was sitting over him. But the build doesn't work as I thought it would. The doom doesn't stack as quickly as you might think.

I think you need to spend at least 5 blood on the rail, then gift Zeus. The next time you talk to him, he should give you the phrase

He needs to know you've got the rail first. After he sees you with it and talks about it, then you just need to keep talking to him with any weapon and eventually he'll give you the phrase. Also you need to have Guan Yu and 5 titan blood on the rail.

I believe he's previously mentioned binding it to ZL/left trigger. I had pretty good luck switching it to L/left bumper and reassigning the codex to R3. Dashing also reloads on empty, though in my experience that doesn't seem super consistent.

I know this is old, but does anybody know if doom stacking could theoretically be better on Rama special? I got +4 shots and %30 special speed once on an Artemis build, and the rate of fire was just fucking ludicrous. I've tried to do this build, but I can NEVER get that hammer and Hermes I need on it. I've even had one with heroic impending doom and dire misfortune, but, without that +4 shots, it was pretty terrible. I did see a 2,500 on a stack that PP hit though.

I think that should work! Sadly, I've tried lots of stacking doom builds (like you see here) but I think Dire Misfortune just isn't strong enough at the end of the day to get "broken" like so many other builds.

@@Haelian I finally got a near perfect run at this yesterday. One stack that PP hit did 10.5k on dad! That's like the biggest number I've seen (aside from hunting blades, of course). You're right though, it ain't broken. I think doom generally sucks, since so little interacts with it, but it was more of a "what's the biggest number we can get" challenge.

I'm pretty sure there are other variables in play here. Anyway, my guess it affects Doom, but 10-20-30% isn't a lot when you have like 25% from FF / 40% from PS, 105% from ID etc. I don't think those stack multiplicatively. I don't think anything in this game does.

I would always get the boons I need first then sell off any excess i don't need for pom purposes. Otherwise you are just going to waste rolls seeing core boons again.

The only reason to have Curse of Longing I can think of is to keep Privileged Status for a build that had to settle for a Doom for PS and otherwise doesn't want to use ability with Doom more than once.

I like stacking DOOM with the shield (Just started the game). I spam the Special which throws the shield like Captain American, then you can charge the shield aka block and let them tick to death while you take no damage. Just trying to find early on cheese strats since I suck at the game and refuse to spam dash and attack non-stop since to me, it takes no skill to do so.
