That's a nifty idea! Using office supplies also saves you money, since storage made specifically for beads can get darned expensive.

Looks great! Thanks for sharing and showing that you can have nice storage at an economical price. The best advantage is you can see through the box and also the little containers. It also looks like you have more room to increase your collection! BTW, your nails are always gorgeous, I wish I had your nail technician!

Great ideas. My favorites are the bookcase having the dividers staggered for support and turning the cases on their sides. Something so simple and yet so brilliant. I have most of my bead supplies in antique picnic baskets and I have to dig through to the bottom for most things, of course. Even storing the cases on end will help. Thanks for sharing!

what's good about it being a little kids shelf is that it has to be sturdy cause kids like grabbing and leaning on etc. and as we all know, glass beads are really heavy ;)

Hi, I just found your channel. This is a very helpful video. I know how addictive collecting beads can be, but you have enough for a lifetime. I have no room to talk. I bought about 75 packs just in the last 2 days and I will probably buy more next week.

I am still a newbie and thank you for the tips and tricks you share. I used to be a quilter and I had so much stuff!!!!! But because of health reasons I have been learning to do jewelry and i agree it's alot like a puzzle. I buy beads now, like you, and like I used to buy fabric. Thanks for the tips on sales and subscriptions. I definitely will look into that. They are so beautiful and it's so rewarding to finish a project in a much shorter time!! You are a good teacher. keep up the great videos😁

Oh man,I wish I had come across this video sooner!Yes,this is a big help!I spent so much money on other bead storage containers they were ok but...!I am not crazy about those boxes that have sections in them for two reasons-you have to take the whole box out even if you're in need of only one colour bead, and I found most of them to not seal very tight that if the box is dropped the beads mix! Those little containers I latched onto a few years ago & love love love them but storage is a big problem...until this video of yours!Thank you, thank you, thank you!

when i was in new york garment district i noticed somethng very strange in how around 100 korean shops one next to the other were all selling buttons and them stores were always a;ways very busy.....i went round to each store and had a look at what buttons they had in stock and noticed that every store carried different inventory than the other store...no two stores carried th same.....the buttons business is aa hidden business with huge markups for both manufacturers and wholesalers.....so i decided i will one day open my own button shop and i did...in the same manner i had to work out the problem of storing each button in all its sizes in all its colors.....some buttons would be 15 different sized and say 15 different colors in just one style....eventualy i worked out a system of storage and had to go to china to make it....plexi glad containers 60 cm long times 20 cm wide and 2 com high.....each box had a divider....2 2 4 5 or just one....the plexiglass was clear and ach box had a drawer that you pulled out and put back in again....in each box i could carry in a small button up to 100 000 buttons...the compartmentalisation of each box gave me the ability to devide in clolors and size within the same box....i stached them on top of one another 40 cm off the gound....12 boxes across and 12 boxes atop one another all in all a wall of 144 boxes....it looked like a candy store but very well organised.....i had all in all 50 000 boxesdisplaying over 120 000 tylprd of button and type and color....i also framed a canvas one meter by one meter and had everytype of botton in all its sizes and colors sewn on the canvas with style number as refrence.....this made it easier fo r customers to scan our entire enventory canvas card and there were over 25 of them each dealing with a perticular style ane each showing the button locaTION ON THE SHELF TO ASSIST SALEMEN IN FINDING THE RIGHT BUTTON....on the right shelf location.....then the store was very busy indeed from dy one.....people kept asking if i had sewing thread and i said no...so many demands that i soon set up a sewing thread section with over 1000 different threead count as well as 1000s of colors////so many colors i gone clor blind...12 different pinks greens blues oranges yellow s can make you go crazy....i also made plexy glass compartmentalisation of each type in each size and in every color under the sun....the section looked like a great candy store fruit shop. with so many colors and a thread for every purpose.....and in every classif9ication of thread size tenacity and size....it took a lot of brain power to sort out the best system to display everything for ease with customers and salepeople....now poeple ar asking for dress tlace and trimmings and i bought out the store next to mine and i will set up the trimmings section as well as many other garment accesories.....all in all i should have when i am done over 5000 sqm area for the mpother of all displays...the store is busy all day....i have an inventory of close to one billion buttons....the buttons and garment accessories business is a sure hit faaiprooof if done right....the world population is 8 billion and if you assume the each individual has 100 buttons on various clothing items owned then that 800 billion buttons every year as more clothes are produced....not counting the thread lenght o produce every garment and teh trimmings lace zippers and whathav e u and you are looking at over 100 trillion little things that no one notices but add up to massive potential....

Aleshia how long have you been making jewelry? Also what is the main type of jewelry pieces do you make? Also did you go to jewelry making school? I love watching your tutorials (that helps me a lot) I haven't been doing ( jewelry making) very long. I just don't want to give it up especially when I hit a rough spot. Hello Alisha, hope I didn't spell your name wrong. I love your storage system. I have a question, how can you size beads if you can't afford a micrometer? The reason I've asked is I recently bought some finished jewelry pieces for the beads themselves from a flea market that was going out of business and I can't afford a micrometer right now. Any information would be helpful. Thanks in advance. Keep up the good work, your videos are inspiring.

hello Aleshia sorry I spelled your name wrong on last post. I have another question, maybe you or someone here can help. can anyone tell me what are the lengths of the following: size 10 beading needle and size 13 beading needle, in inches please, which is longer? thanks in advance for the answer. I am a very new to beading so I need all the help I can get and I realize that Aleshia is very busy, so anyone who can help my questions would be appreciated. thanks again. sincerely Becky B from Arkansas

Hi 👋! I just found your question: I know it’s been a long time since but maybe it could help someone else out!! The main differences for the #10 needle vs. the #13 needle are 1) the eye is bigger on 10 needle and it’s a little fatter where as the 13 needle has a small eye and is much thinner to fit through the very tiny beads better. As far as length it all depends on the brand and kind of needles you purchase! They have long needles, sharps, shorts etc. I like the John James English needle version 10,11,12 and 13. Now granted as u weave they will become bent some but I find it actually helps some cuz this way it’s easier sometimes to get into tighter places or corners. I also love the Beadalon brand 10 and 12 needle hard: they last longer and don’t bend as much. I find these are my 2 favorite sizes of needles. The 12 I use a lot with peyote stitch! U can get the Beadalon packs at Michael’s(the hard):John James is sold at Joannes. U can also get them online at just about any craft site. Also there are Tulips beading needles (very expensive for a few IMO); Also Pony brand (again online)!! Melissa aka Made With Love 💜 By: Mel from South Florida
