Two key factors to keep in mind as this series gets started: the first will be that EDM power play is gunna be explosive and not at all what the Preds offered up. Secondly, the Oilers don’t have Saros level goaltending, he straight up robbed so many good scoring chances and I don’t see Skinner making those saves. Will be an awesome series regardless and at least we’ll get one Canadian team advancing to the Conference finals.

The Canucks need to be very concerned about the Oil pp. If the Oil are let loose and not countered, this series will go 5 maybe 6. What everyone seems to not be seeing is the Canucks adjusted to a lock down defensive posture because that gave them the best probability to win vs the Preds= playing a very experienced well coached system from the sure bet Jack Adams winner. Can the Canucks score= yes. They had one of the best goal differentials in the NHL. Consider the Preds could also score and had the #2 pp in the world behind the Oil. However they were almost completely shut down and limited to a pittance of shots (not just the Canucks). This lack of scoring and shots was a reflection of D not a reflection of impotent scoring via the Canucks or the Preds. I caution the Oil to trust the Vegas odds too blindly, which are overwhelming giving this series to Edmonton, to a point where they are the most lopsided favourite team to get to the 3rd round. I do not give Skinner any real advantage over DeSmith, and to be honest, Silos has looked shockingly good considering he is an AHL goalie. Understand that Demko is the Canucks 2nd best player. To put this into context, Draisaitl, who is the Oil's 2nd best, can take over a series (so can Demko). If he comes back, the Vegas Odds will swing notably. The other consideration is some teams just have another teams number and are constructed to do well against them. Example, the Oil have had the King's number, the Kings have had the Canucks' number, and the Canucks have had the Oilers' number. 2023-2024 (4-0). Will the Oil beat the Canucks.... don't know. However the (-262) odds Vegas is giving the Oil seems obscene to me.

It's Canucks time..... everyone is counting them out before it's starts. Edmonton besides Connor and Leon who are the best tandom in the world Canucks have more grit and resilience than you think. Watch out for the Latvian Express , his veins are filled with ice and right now he is in the zone. Watch the world championships last year...this guy is going to be a very very good goalie in the near future.
