When Stacy apologized and said she had gone through a period where she was very angry [as an explanation for the things she said publicly], I immediately understood what had happened to her. I went through a few years of being beyond broke. I had to get on public assistance which felt degrading, my ex was making my life hell, my business was failing. I was so painfully broke that I couldn't afford to buy clothes and was buying all my toiletries and products at the dollar store. I felt POWERLESS. So I got a sense of power by adopting rigged Conservative beliefs and repeating them online. When my financial situation began to improve and I moved far away from my abuser, my beliefs started to shift back. It took some time but I snapped out of it and I was MORTIFIED by my actions. I started blaming my own people for why "Americans" didn't like us in general as if those xenophobes and racists even mattered! I had even become completely anti-choice. I was and am deeply ashamed of this period of my life but it gave a me a lot of insight into how people operate and it humbled me. I hope Stacy learned from that experience and continues to grow and mature.

Stacey is different for the fact that she is mixed and an american. I can tell Stacey hates the racial ideology that was created in Spain in the 15th century that has spread like wildfire all around the world and after almost 600 years later, races should very important here in USA even though it is a spanish ideology that was made into a law in Spain. The word 'race' 'white' black' should be banned as a racial meaning and replace it with african or african descent or european or european descent. I agree with Stacy that racism creates division, and tension in any society. As a hispanic person, race shouldn't be important but rather your culture even if your culture is currently changing, it is still cool to be part of it. Every culture is a mixture of previous cultures just like religions are a mixture of previous religions.

It might rubbed the wrong way but she is really misunderstood the fact that she is mixed. She is the hybrid mix created in USA. Since I'm mix as well with a multiculture background, she meant it in a good way to bridge people together. Give it 100-150 years from now, USA will see her as a person who was making sense and she cared for everybody. The only problem is that a lot of people are still not mix yet at the moment BUT are growing in percentage numbers that slowly it will make the european descent and african descent percentages even lower. As the years go by, that mix people will become the majority with a new hybrid american culture.

Here’s my observations on celebrities who share their views. I’ve noticed the celebrities who share their “controversial” views with the public and still HAVE a career left did it strategically. They share those views with the public when they have established their careers and when they were financial well off. Stacy Dash has accomplished many things and has contributed much to pop-culture, however she doesn’t have the same career longevity like other actresses. And as a human being she’s entitled to those viewpoints and opinions. Having controversial views is not the problem, you can do whatever you want. The question is will you be able to handle the consequences of sharing those views. Especially if those views/opinions are unpopular.

Being a black and Mexican person its crazy reading some of these comments. Saying things like Stacy isn't black because she's biracial. Honey, society views us as black no matter what you think. On my DL it says black. There's no "biracial" box to check. I REPRESENT BOTH my Mexican and Black roots despite what others gotta say. Funny how one group of people are gonna tell people like US what we aren't. SMH. If I didn't mention being biracial I always get told I look Ethiopian. And I mean everyday. I still go through the trials and tribulations of being a black women. Its not taking away from anyone that has two black parents. At the end of the day I identify as HUMAN

I understand what you're saying it's just Stacey says she's not Black, she says she's biracial. Those are her words. It makes it seem like she's separating herself from the Black community but as you said society will view her, you and many others as Black just by how you appear.
@sirenenoire40912 жыл бұрын
It does take things away from monoracial black people because of the media handing off roles for Black women (I.e., Storm, the Hate You Give, The Sun is Also a Star, Etc etc etc, to women that don’t exactly look like Black women because we are deemed less attractive. If you don’t know the history of the brown paper bag test then this will not resonate with you. Light skin privilege is a thing both in and out of the Black community. Obviously you’ll still have challenges thanks to the stupid one drop rule mentality, but that doesn’t make biracial women on the same societal level as dark skinned monoracial black women.

To be honest I think biracials should start advocating for a tick box in the consensus. And I mean that with all due respect because I don’t think it’s fair that you have to pick a side. I think you should be able to embrace both sides however given that Mexican culture is rich we cannot deny the fact that she is not fully black. As someone who is fully black you have the privilege of going between both cultures and races where is I am assigned to one race, you have way more privileges as a biracial woman then I would as a fully black woman and once again I really don’t hope to offend you but I’m simply pointing out the differences. There’s a new show currently out called College Hill which Stacey Dash makes an appearance. The people on the show address her as black and Stacey makes quick haste correct and remind her cast members that she is black Mexican and identifies as biracial.

In terms of her political views, I think that the way she words things may not be beneficial to her. Even as a left-leaning person, I would love for black history month and other racial conversations to no longer be needed...but that's not the country we live in. In my opnion, I feel like many right-leaning people SAY race doesn't matter but don't actually feel that way. After all if this wasn't the case, why are black conservatives often mostly or only called to speak on "cultural issues?" You can't say race is unimportant and then call the one black person you know to say what your audience wants to hear - which is exactly what FOX did with Stacey before they removed her completely! And she's pretty tame in comparison to other conservative personalities that I've seen. How you fire Stacey but then keep Tucker Carlson and the rest of Fox and Friends? Make it make sense.

There are many conservatives who share her ideas and who have a lot of supporters online like Megyn Kelly, etc. All she needed was to stop wanting the same people she is criticising hire her.
