Definitely unique for sure. Plus the classic cobra whine is hard to beat even if it means the blower isn’t the most efficient. Sometimes it is nice to let the motor sing.

Aviator engines on their own are great. Now 10:1 compression with an eaton is just fantastic!

What engine is the aviator?

@@dsrrecordsent Its a 4.6L double overhead cam v8. They rate it at 300fwhp in truck trim. Its the same heads, cams, block, and rotating assembly as a 03-04 marauder and automatic Mach 1's. They use a dual runner intake manifold which is pretty cool too.

@@nicko9725 The Aviator uses the same 184° duration @ .050 intake cams as the Marauder, Mach 1, and 03-04 Terminator Cobra. The rotating assembly is an 8bolt cast crank rather than the 6 bolt stuff found in the automatic Machs and Marauders but are the same iron crank otherwise. The rods and pistons are identical components. Only the terminator cobra got the beefy manley rods and Forged pistons.

As an actual 2005 aviator owner , i can attest to it having the exact same rotating assembly, heads, cams etc as the mach 1 , marauder etc.

The Cobra swap has already been done a guy in New Jersey did it to a 4.0 for like 8 years ago. He has a channel here and I think it ran low 12 high 11s

I really think you should get into the AMG market since yall know superchargers so well. Please ditch the running boards, the roof rack, and maybe lower it a little. It will clean up the look of it and make it more sporty looking especially since it's color matched like it is. Those Termi wheels look great and would look even better maybe PC a little darker silver or grey

It’s a 4.6DOH from a 2003-05 Lincoln aviator, if the year of the explorer and the Lincoln match up i say it shouldn’t be hard since the aviator is just a more luxurious explorer in other words rebadged explorer, but I’d pick up an aviator instead tho, currently have one and they are super cheap right now and worth every penny. They come in rwd and awd.
