I'm so happy she put English subtitles on that soap opera because I laughed so hard from start to finish. The Holoro mini-live was great from start to end but the soap opera was definitely my favorite section. Towards the middle of the Ollie slipper-beating scene I did start to think "Wow this is weirdly kind of brutal?" but then it went on so long I started laughing again, so the tea-pouring might have worked for me as a punchline to that hilariously extended sequence of over the top violence, but I understand it might not have worked for everyone so I get the decision to nix it. Thanks for adding the reference popups!

My personal favorite moment is when Reine throws the slipper at Ollie lol. It's really interesting to see how different cultures respond to the slipper-beating scene differently. Growing up, my household used a similar form of punishment, so I thought it was funny. I think boiling the bear in the pot is universally weird tho lol

@@PavoniniClips Yeah, by the time she threw the slipper I was laughing again. The bear in the pot also had me in stitches. It was even funnier after finding out it was a stuffed animal in the thing they were referencing. Since they acted like boiling him was so reprehensible I thought maybe it was a reference to some scene where the heroine's live pet was callously killed, which seems like something a wicked stepmother would do.

In Indonesian there use to be a lot of mexican telenovelas on tv at least until around early 2000s, they show telenovelas around morning or afternoon on tv and mom and sisters love watching it, the telenovelas actress thalia really famous in Indonesia especially the generation that's watch telenovelas from the 90s, in my childhood carita de angel is really famous and many people watched that show
