Gonna do this with my HEMA study group, call it a staff meeting. In case anyone doesn’t want to take part, we'll take a poll. Keep the training equipment clean; don't want anyone to get a staff infection. But when it comes to stick puns, I give no quarter.

Those “sticks” are rather heavy actually.. And when you hold it close to the end and toward the sky.. heavier still.. Quite amazing the routine you did.. especially with the heavier oak staff.. There is little doubt.. after watching you complete full routines with both staves.. why you are in such excellent physical condition.. That fact alone should persuade many to adapt this training regimen.. Well done, Tom.. and thank you 💜💙🌻

Huge fan! Saving up money this year for some historical reenactment clothes, and I'm going to get low weight and high weight full wool plaids. I know coming up with new video ideas you haven't covered before might be difficult, but I personally love your field testing of equipment during camping trips and things to see what you bring and how you use it. There is a new trend started by GeoGuesser to cross countries in a perfectly straight line. He's done Wales, Great Britain, Norway, and Scotland. I think that would be the ultimate challenge hahaha!

One of the best Videos on Stickfighting I have seen so far!!! I am mostly studying Aiki-Jo and Koryu, but also interested in HEMA. Many Aiki-Jo practitioners lack realism, only performing handed-down figures. While HEMA often fails to establish a martial system including postures, stances and figures to rely on. Workouts like this can enrich every martial artists exercises.

This reminds me a lot of club swinging, which would pre-date your book by some time if I understand correctly. Warriors from India used clubs/maces/gaddas/joris (and so many more) much in the same way for training, might be something you'd find interesting if you like the history angle of things. That said I'm just getting started with sticks coming off 2 or so years of club and mace swinging, so this is a great into video. Thanks for making it!
