Today we visit Staffan again, this time we looked at his other snow shoveling machine, a UTV that his son usually shovels with.
But with this one, it's easy to take a friend and go out into nature.
And what I was hooked on was that it is diesel powered.
And made in China.
Thank you Staffan for showing us your machines!!
An all-terrain vehicle or ATV is a motorized vehicle designed to be used for off-road driving that often has four low-pressure tires. They have a seat in the middle that the driver adjoins and the controls at the handlebars. ATVs are also called "quads" or "all-terrain vehicles".
WHAT IS A SSV?
A side-by-side vehicle (SxS), or SSV, is an all-terrain vehicle with a 4- to 6-wheel design. The SSV has a steering wheel and foot pedal system. An SSV is also called a UTV (utility task vehicle) and they are perfect work vehicles for yourself or a versatile vehicle for the whole family.
ATV VS SSV: WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES?
An ATV is a four-wheeled vehicle intended for single riders, while an SSV is wider so that multiple users can sit side by side.
An ATV has seats that you recline to drive, while sitting on a bench or in a seat in an SSV.
An ATV uses a handlebar as a steering system and has a throttle on the handlebar. An SSV uses a steering wheel, has seat belts, the gas pedal is at your feet and you get closer to a car experience than with an ATV. The protection is also different with the roof and windshield of an SSV while the four-wheel drive favors the driving sensations and the freedom of the motorcycle.
The protection is also different with the roof and windshield of an SSV while an off road ATV favors the driving sensations with a motorcycle feel.
An ATV is more agile and better for fast turns and is usually used for racing. It can carry less cargo on the front and rear racks. An SSV is a larger machine, which makes it less easy to swing. On the other hand, it is more stable and user-friendly when driving with passengers. It is designed for tougher terrain, towing and utility tasks and is often equipped with many accessories and a rear tipper.
Size and Maneuverability - While an SSV wins when it comes to storage, an ATV is best when it comes to navigating dense woods and tighter spaces. An ATV can also be attached to a trailer, which makes it easy to transport and suitable for smaller storage spaces.
ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES
When weighing the pros and cons between ATV and SSV, it doesn't necessarily mean that one is better than the other. Each quad has its unique advantages and disadvantages in terms of applications, driving environments, accessories, activities and logistics.
But generally speaking, you have to look at each case and choose ATV/SSV according to the area of use.
If you like to ride alone at high speeds and with smooth maneuvers, then an ATV is made for you. If you want more functions for work and better safety, you choose a vehicle that has more seats and higher load and towing capacity, and then the SSV is a given choice. However, some off-roaders choose to have both so they can enjoy the best of both worlds.
