STAFFORDSHIRE BULL TERRIER PROTECTION SPORT TRAINING

Most dogs are instinctively protective of their families. However, not all dogs know how to effectively protect their family in a threatening situation. Training your dog to have the skills he needs to ward off an attacker before the situation escalates provides effective protection. Some breeds are more naturally protective than others and harnessing and directing these behaviors so you have an effective protection dog will prove more successful than training a dog that lacks confidence. The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is one of those naturally protective dogs. Sometimes 'Staffies' are referred to as 'The Nanny Dog' because of their ability to guard and because they are naturally good with small children in their home. This trait can be harnessed to make a 'Staffie' an excellent protection dog as his instinct is to guard and protect his 'people' from threats. If you are interested in training your Staffordshire Bull Terrier to be a protection dog, make sure you have the resources available, the assistance of a reputable professional trainer, and that you are aware of regulations in your area involving 'bully breeds'.

@@simongray2533 yes.. she was nothing but unconditional love and just acted so much more human than most humans if you.know what I'm saying, and I agree I cried more over this loss than my loss of my own family members also, everybody loved her and she just didn't act like a dog I swear she had a human soul I've never had nor will have another and although I'm heart broken I was Honored to have been chosen to have such a amazing friend /family member to have loved me and I her for those 13 yrs... we been through hell in back at times but we always had eachother..

I’m really sorry. 6 weeks ago my staffie Jack that I had grown up with ever since I came home from the hospital had to be put down. He was 16 and a half and had the biggest smile. I like to think that he is up there watching me and always looking over me. Don’t be sad just think about all the good times all the times you came home to pillow feathers every where. Staffies are great. Very smart, excellent watch dogs, strong, loyal. Of course guard and watch are 2 different things. Most Staffies will show ya the goods if you're a stranger. They're ranked 34th in intelligence however, their eagerness to please really outweighs that.

Staffies are big dogs in small packages:) Heart, strength, athletic, tenacity and loyal. I've a 14 month old and he's amazing. Not dog aggressive but stands his ground if provoked.

Another Staffy video and it's Rizzo! I follow this dog on IG. Man let me tell you about the Staffy's intelligence. You see the wheels turning and watch them figure things out for themselves. It's like they cater to you and remember what you asked of them last time so they have a great idea of what to do next. Uber velcro dogs(males) and work hard for your approval. You're rarely in a room in the house without them shadowing you. I had a 15 year who passed in 2020 and now I currently have a 9 month old. Superb breed, but he's right in saying they're not the best for guard work. These dogs are hits with strangers. Commonly they ask what are they and where can they get their own. Living in America they're going to think you have an undersized Pit Bull before you educate them. I could go on and on.

They was used a lot in the Victorian days to babysit the children here in the UK whilst the parents went to work etc hence their called the Nanny Dog. Got a few myself. Brilliant breed.

My favourite dog breed after the APBT! In the UK, APBT's are illegal but we still get them over here. But over the years, seeing my friends dogs getting put down just because of the breed that they are and not because of anything they've done is just heart breaking.

@@empiregaitbully5261 It's actually the courts that decide whether a dog gets put down based on the officers assessment. The law needs to change. There are perfectly good dogs being put down based solely on the physical characteristics and not on temperament and how the dog is overall.

Ontario lifted the breed specific bans on dogs. One of the only 'wins' of last year.

My friend was attacked and stabbed 14 times on Tuesday night. The dog who was in the house an American bully X staffy chased his attackers out of the building biting 2 or 3 of them. Makes me delighted to hear. I know my staffy would throw down his life if I Ever was in trouble. Bull breed dogs are unmatched. 🥰
