Thanks for your videos. I've got a 2006 where the front engine cover has started leaking oil. Volvo wants 23KSEK for the work and another 3-7KSEK for parts. I see that there is a lot of work to fix it but you showed that it's doable. I am waiting for the next video about putting it together.

thanks for posting the videos, I have a 2008 XC90 V8 as well, 218,000km, I am second owner, sure is tight to work in that space with that V8.

No problem, I have been sitting on these videos for too long, was supposed to put them on youtube long ago, the engine bay sure is tight, so much easier to work on the engine when its out of there, sweet to be second owner, Im 10th on mine, had this silver one only for half a year, fixed the engine and had to sell it.

@@Stafilafi thank you for the videos, they are very helpful, I commend you for doing the work in your garage with just hand tools, very impressive how you jacked up the vehicle to get the engine/tranny out from the bottom! :)

These videos are great but its been a few months since you uploaded. Did you stop recoding after this one? I was really hoping to see the whole process end to end.

There is more, but this is unfortunately not any work that puts food on the table, thats why it has got no high priority. Sorry 😢

@@Stafilafi Completely understandable. Thanks for all the content that you have been able to provide.

Odd to pull the timing cover off before removing the valve covers.

Where is the Thermostat located on that engine?
@Stafilafi2 жыл бұрын
If I remeber it right, it is located where the big waterhose connects behind the waterpump.
@thadonofdetroit76792 жыл бұрын
Is that on the upper or lower part of the engine, meaning is it connected to the larger lower radiator hose?
@Stafilafi2 жыл бұрын
You have it right in front of you at the beginning of this video between approximately 0-10 seconds in.

Thank you so much, it's been days of me trying to find that location, you and your video is very much appreciated.

Did you ever get it done

What bolts did you use for the harmonic balancer?
@Stafilafi Жыл бұрын
To get it off the engine?
@kevinwalter94 Жыл бұрын
@@Stafilafi Yes, I've ordered the original tools for it. But I think the bolts to bolt the tool into the harmonic balancer are not included.
@Stafilafi Жыл бұрын
@@kevinwalter94 I used 8.8, but I recommend using 10.9 och 12.9 just to be on the safe side.

@@Stafilafi thanks! I’ve just bought the original tools at the end. They were €110 in total and worth it. :-). Unfortunately the engine block had scores in de cilinders. And a burnt valve. Decides to replace the whole engine.

Vilken bil ska du lägga den i ?
@Stafilafi2 жыл бұрын
Tyvärr åker den bara tillbaka i bilen som står i bakgrunden. Får jag spons på en likadan motor så lovar jag att turbomata den och sätta in i 740in :)
