@RobertArjocan-sd4qm3 ай бұрын
Hi, I am a bit late to the video but I was wondering if the ttrs had any oil burning issues especially at 500bhp, planning on buying one however I’ve had a 1.8T before and i had to top it up w 1L oil every 500 miles and that was horrendous, don’t want to experience that ever again. Overall reliability of this gen 2.5 tfsi? How did u find it? Many thanks 😊
@accelerateyoutube3 ай бұрын
Hi. No I didn't have oil burning issues. I had a few parts I had to change. Parts for these are not the cheapest. I Loved the TTRS, just RS tax is bad. I actually have a 1.8T Audi TT Mk1. I have no oil usage on mine, it's just everything else that's gone wrong lol. Thanks Ken

Just bought a n55 335i, thinking of coming over to TTRS.. what’s your thoughts?
@accelerateyoutube11 ай бұрын
Both very good choices! I have not owned either, but have driven both. If you want all out perfomance/lap times/0-60mph times, go with the TT. But with the 335i being RWD, they are a lot more engaging. The TT is almost too good! Kenny owned this TT RS in the video, sold it a year or so after, but has now bought a MK1 TT 225, so they must be doing something right. Thank you for watching! - Drew

About what RPM is the turbo fully spooled? On the OE turbo and tune, you reach peak boost (and torque I believe) as early as 1,700 RPM.
@ken_accelerate3 жыл бұрын
I honestly do not know. I will find out for you though. The turbo doesn't feel laggy at all though and the turbo pulls all the way to the redline. It doesn't drop off at all
@JustinBone3 жыл бұрын
@@ken_accelerate yeah I hear that from many people. Pretty sure that the TTE 500+ is definitely the one I want, most gains with least lag. Just trying to see if there is any significant lag/low end difference from OE
@ken_accelerate3 жыл бұрын
@justin bone I bought the car with the tte500 already fitted. It's really usable which I think is great. For everyday driving and also for foot down moments. I've owned a few turbo cars and this is easily the least laggy I've owned, basically none
@steveoz323 жыл бұрын
Do you think the tte500 is worth it vs a mapped RS? I already have 420hp and 600nm, so is the jump to 500 and 700nm really worth the turbo, downpipe, clutch, intercooler and other bits? I priced it at somewhere from 6-7k for the extra 80odd HP and 100nm, when a remap for 700 got over 100nm and 80hp. Cheers.
@ken_accelerate3 жыл бұрын
All depends what you want out of the car. I would say it's worth it for sure. It may only be approx 100nm and 80bhp but they are just figures at the end of the day. These cars are nice and light and that extra power is really noticeable. I now have a 420bhp Evo 7 and I know for a fact my RS would have destroyed it, however, I raced a 420bhp ttrs in the Evo and they were neck and neck. Plus for the extra 6-7k it will scare supercars. Thanks

Ps. It was 740nm. Thanks

Slightly late to the party here, I've got a similar build but am wondering what clutch you were running?? Currently got a 4 puck and it's a nightmare for casual driving.
@accelerateyoutube Жыл бұрын
no problem at all. the car came with a Helix 6 puck when i bought it which didnt seem too bad. I then switched to a Sachs, but the Sachs would slip until you got some heat into it. I was told the Sachs Organic would be fine but would recommend the sintered one over organic. Thanks Ken
@monkman121 Жыл бұрын
@@accelerateyoutube Cheers for that, I was tempted to eventually go down the Helix 6 puck route as it seems a happy medium, how come you went to the Sachs? They seem to have a really low torque rating! I'm running 575hp and 745nm.
@MrR4H33M2 күн бұрын
@@monkman121 Hi mate have you still got the tt and how's the clutch running? Can you daily it and has it been reliable? Cheers
@monkman1212 күн бұрын
@MrR4H33M got rid of the high power TT and have a stock one now which is soo much nicer to drive.. I've heard nothing but bad things about the 4 puck.. I'd stick with organic one and just let it warm up and cool down properly.

Hi, thanks for your comment. You're right, i can't replace the RS for better even if i spent 18k, however, the plan is to buy a project car. The RS is amazing in nearly every way but it just feels soulless to me. Theres too many electronic aids on the car and I would prefer something a bit more raw. Thanks Ken
