When I was in high school back in 98, my father had a few cars. One was a 93 Cobra. He bought the car used and was going to give it to me if I graduated with a 3.5GPA. Needless to say I did not. I swear just to rub it in he began to modify it right afterwards. It had a set of TFS ported heads a Vortech S trim (non intercooled) an E303 cam and a few other basic stuff MSD this and ported GT40 that. My point is that car made about 385whp on like 9 lbs of boost. In Houston there's a big difference in air quality for boosted stuff from one day to the next to from Summer to Winter. I remember it being really hot the only time I ever saw it on the dyno. That was a damn fast car for 1998 and besides big block race stuff there wasn't just a hell of a whole lot that would just make it look stupid stop light to stop light. It was a lot of mods and a lot of money back in the day. All of that for 380whp! Now even slightly modded LS/Coyote powered cars are picking up more power than that Cobra made. I was a Country kid at heart and was really starting to get into diesels as the diesel truck power game was in its infancy. A Cummins with injectors and propane was all the rage in 98 at my high school. I grew up in a suburb of South Houston and it was a city that was either ultra rich or middle class. Still nobody had crazy fast expensive cars. Not even the rich kids, as there simply wasn't a lot on offer at the time. the LT1 Z28s and Firebirds were out there but aside from a set of flow masters nobody went any further. The aftermarket was still in its infancy too. It wasn't until the new supercharged Cobras came out that stuff started to get real. Anyway, my whole point is that from what it took to get a Cobra in 98 to close to 400whp would be scoffed at today. What a time to be alive, ya let's keep it going TRUMP24

I`m really not familiar with E85 yet, but my question is if you tune a car running on E50 and a customer later runs straight E85 would the tune correct it or does the customer have to keep it at E50

In this instance the car has a flex fuel sensor and a 93 tune a E tune. The sensor will read E content and the car will adjust within the parameters. As far as adding more E... if your tuned for E50 and you fill up with E85 in the car, it will still react the same. The cars computer will compensate for more/less fuel or timing. Same as if you had a 91 octane tune and threw in 93 or 93 and octane booster. My car is now tuned for only E85 and pump E ranges from 70%-88%. My car runs the same between the two.
