Sounds like it needs a turbo upgrade. The KO2’s are really good in the low end hence why he got ~360ft lbs. And honestly ~250whp isn’t bad with that turbo when you take into consideration that the stock crank numbers from factory are 250bhp and if it was stock you’d probably be getting ~230whp max. @@milsgarage Let me rephrase - its not wrong to dyno in 4th. but the way this dyno works you should get a higher reading in 5th. 4th gear overall ratio is 4.14 to 1 (99mph) while 5th gear overall ratio is 3.30 to 1. (125mph) . back in the day with LS1 Fbodies you would switch from 3.42s to 4.10s and loose about 10hp on the dyno. I could be completly wrong and that everyone is doing 4th gear pulls, or maybe on the Focus it doesnt matter.

@awhitness6 жыл бұрын
@@milsgarage Yeah, basically on a dyno they can go up to 200mph, but for a turbo car you dont want to be in boost to olong for heat issues. The Focus ST is 6mt. Top speed of 4th is 100mph while 5th is 125mph. Honestly 5th to me would be perfect on a dyno, still safe and best reading . I was thinking of an easy way to explain why the reading would be different in 5th, here it goes.... Your on a 10 speed bicycle in 1st gear coasting at 10mph. Now you pedal as hard and as fast as you can. The pedals would be maxed out almost in an instant. Now you do the same test on the bicycle but in 4th gear. It will take longer to max out and you will be able to generate more power because there is more resistance. Get it? If the engine revs up to quickly on the dyno , it wont show the engines true power.

@@milsgarage At 2500 rpms your making 370ftlbs. By 5200rpms your only making 250ftlbs. Thats a drop of 120ftlbs of torque. That drop is your turbo not being able to sustain psi. If you datalog your boost you will see there is a direct link between psi level and torque. At 2500 rpms I am guessing your around 24psi.. By 5,200rpms you are probably down to 18psi.

Mils Garage yeah I’m getting ready to go 2867R soon. Have all the other “stage 3” stuff plus a catch can. When you do get a bigger turbo be sure to get some sort of aux fuel system. I’m going stratified for mine. Get the 2 port aux or the x4tra which is what I’m going for. Their guardian angel is a good idea too. If you buy the turbo from strat instead of say CJ ponyparts you can get an external waste gate as well, which is what I’m opting for.
