Such a great video cannot wait to see the gulf crossing .Really a great idea having a buddy boat especially when you have a large crossing like that.

For sure! It's a big part of what makes the Loop extra special. Having this group of people, all working towards the same goal (albeit in different ways) gives us a wonderful sense of community and peace of mind.

I missed this video when it first dropped. That are you all were walking around, I stayed in the old ice house last June when I stayed in Appalach for a few days. The next week, I got my cancer diagnosis. I'm glad that I did the trip even though I was not feeling particularly well. I haven't been able to do much since. At least I had some nice oyster dinners and some good beers. The lines from a favorite Jimmy Buffett of my song, Tin Cup Chalice, played in my head. "Give me oysters and beer, for dinner every day of the year and I'll feel fine!" What a spectacularly gorgeous sunset you all had that night.

Funny how little things trigger memories. The quick shots of sea oats take me back 60+ years to growing up playing on the barrier islands near Wilmington NC. Haven’t seen them in a long time.

You’re right… it was a great crossing and there were at least 15 loopers doing the overnight crossing! The sunset and moonrise were spectacular as was the sunrise the next morning. Stay Cool 😎

It must have been super comforting knowing there's a group of loopers crossing this challenge together! one of the great things about the Loop... glad y'all had a great crossing and best of luck searching for your next boat 😁

You're jus trying to drag it out! :0. No, means I probably get a couple of extra videos! Finished StayCool and OnFIRE, a while ago, so enjoy that you still have new videos. Watching a couple of new ones now from last year. Hopefully, get a new group every year. Probably not going to be a fun as this group was though. Still waiting on Boomershine's to actually start their loop videos release. Been waiting for someone to do the Big Bend. Sat out a hurricane in Cedar Key almost 30 years ago. (Drove there, not by boat)

1st of all you need some sausage on that biscuit. The other thing you need is a huge tranquilizer for your 1st mate on this crossing. I cannot even imagine how Gonna be LOL

Be nice to have you describe pros/cons between trawler and Nordic tug designs. Which works, which doesn't. Thanks!
@SchoandJo8 ай бұрын
I would consider a Nordic Tug to be similar to a trawler, but possibly in the "fast" trawler category since they can get up to 14 knots. We don't have a lot of practical experience with Nordic Tugs but have seen quite a few. Beautiful boats, we'd be happy to cruise one day. We do have an article about loop boats in general if you are interested here: schoandjo.com/great-loop-boats/

So I started watching your videos about at Chicago and love watching. I’ve been curious about your menu selections on the loop. 2 part question- I notice you all eat a ton of veggies and how often did you provision and did you store them out in the open or keep in a cooler? Second one is probably strange to ask, but I thought maybe you all were vegan/ vegetarian but then I see cheese and eggs- do you not eat meat or is it hard to keep with freezer space? I know on our 38’ we have very limited freezer space and I’ve often wondered how our menu would change on the loop compared to cooking at home. Our funeral home where we live is across the parking lot to Kroger and go 5 times a week at least lol
@SchoandJo8 ай бұрын
haha, it is a bit different provisioning on a boat compared to land life... we (on average) provisioned groceries anywhere from every week to every two weeks. We don't really eat meat, so that was our reason for not including it, but with a deep freezer it isn't an issue at all. Veggies were hard to keep good, and whatever we could keep in our fridge, we did! We also purchased frozen veggies for the tail end of provisioning when we were lacking a bit. Cheers!

Why are the videos more than a year behind? What adventures are you up to now? The other looper youtubers have already showed their gulf crossing (and some have even sold their boats now). I like your videos, just wondering why the lag?
@SchoandJo8 ай бұрын
There are a few reasons, but mainly because we filmed daily videos of America's Great Loop - each video takes 2-3 days to produce, hence, the lag! We decided to show more granular details, and the trade-off is a longer time to release.
@historyv3508 ай бұрын
Ok what are you guys up to now? Still doing the boat life?
