Hi Sam! She was sick here when she sang this. She had also some problems with the program director and producer of the show regarding her entry song because they wanted her to sing something she was pressed for time to prepare and arrange. So she asked her guitarist to fly to China last minute. KZ never sings a song she doesn’t feel in her heart because that was her father taught her to do.

This performance was the most legit of all her performances actually, not rolling in the deep. It's sounds so real that I can stop doing my work and stare at the moment. Sounds so painful but calm.

I have learnt that her song was change the night before the contest that's why she sang without a big band. She knows the replacement song a bit and practice / arranging the song up till early morning of the final day with her favorite guitarist.

I think she sang that song like what ever happened to whoever wrote the song, like she was about to cry or just finished balling her eyes out. The catch in the throat shakes wobbly voice. To tell you how good she is she has a film opening, that she has the female lead. Also ang the title song but also composed a song which she recorded for the movie. Sorry I started rambling lol

I read somewhere that Hua, when interviewed mentioned that this is her fave performance. When asked if it was for the episode, he emphasized that it was the best in the whole competition.

What was assigned song to her she can’t come up with a good performance. So she talked to the producer that she will change the song just 2 days before the live shows. They say the band can’t do sudden change and little time to rehearse. So she asked if they could flew in the guitarist from the Philippines and this is the outcome.
