*(EDIT- ITS 11.26 STILL WAITING FOR A RESPONSE FROM AISG)* HEY GUYS! So I think people are misunderstanding me when I say this tape residue is not coming off. I have been working with glass- stickers/labels/sharpie on glass for 5+ years now, so I've had more experience then I would like removing them. Lol . I have now tried EVERYTHING to remove that residue, and it is quite literally, not coming off. That's why I'm so irritated and ok enough to post a slightly negative video, days after continuing to try and remove it. Here is the list of things ive tried, before ultimately chucking the edges this morning. Some of these options suggested by you guys here and on my IG! Lamp oil- like they suggested Razor blade Heating the residue/glass WD40 Acetone Normal nail polish remover with added oils Lighter fluid Cuticle oil Vegetable oil Goo gone Soapy water Dawn dish soap Pam And the list literally goes on! But, like I said I have now cut the edges and chucked em. I'm not kidding when I say I think something went wrong with a new tape, or something. This was not a normal "tricky tape residue" situation. Thank you all for your suggestions and I will keep you guys posted as far as what AISG can do to help me!

I have so many of them too lol! But like I said the glass is chucked, nothing was getting that shit off I don't think. It was a thick gooey tape. Oddest consistency I've ever seen. Lol!!

Exactly my thoughts. That's why I'm thinking something went wrong. Like this tape was manufactured incorrectly if that's even a thing, or they just switched to this new tape. Idk. Odd odd situation lol!!!

The fact they have a little pink card attached to the front of your package tells me that you're unfortunately not the only lucky winner of the most sticky residue glass pack!! Lol 🙈 the complaints have to be a real thing if they are printing and attaching those to a package. Thankfully you did this review so if your viewers order from them they will know to ask for no tape lol

Ive wanted to do stained glass FOREVER! I used to draw and paint but i went down a dark path and ended up paralizing my right arm from the elbow down :( it took about 6 months to regain the use of my hand (and im right handed btw) and even though it did come back its not the same and i was told it most likely wont ever be :( upside is my cursive got better but i write in all caps printing now 💚 AAANYways...my bf knows how sad i am and how hard ive been trying to draw again...he suprised me and took me to hobby lobby today ☺😁😁😁 he got me everything i need to start 💚💚💚💚 tomorrow is going to be a great day! I have placed a huge order with Anything in Stained glass several years ago and only just recently unpacked it as I have a brand new studio in my home. Know what you are talking about with regard to the tape residue. Best way to remove is with 70% alcohol. Anything in Stained Glass is an awesome supplier - I just upgraded to all new equipment and they were awesome.

I would say the same if they didn't offer no tape. I've never received broken glass in the mail, or tape all over my glass. So I'm so torn. I will just definitely choose the no tape option next time! 😂 & thank you!!!

Either a thicker tape or a painters tape is a great solution if someone was dead set on taping the glass. And it being from edge to edge seems maybe a bit much.

I just stumbled across your channel and am so glad to have found this video as I’ve thought about purchasing from them. If ever you run across this sticky tape situation again I highly recommend lemon essential oil! Just drop it on a cotton ball and go to town. It’s by far the best solution I’ve found and it has yet to fail me. I hope you don’t need it but wanted to share just in case ☺️

That stickiness looks gross! I've shopped online from every glass store in the UK and never had any tape on the glass and not had any breakages either! Also, good to see someone else has the "I wanna eat it!" reaction to glass! 😄 For me it's Oceansides Ruby Red granite 🍴 chomp chomp

I just ordered from S W Art Glass. It was a flat rate 15.00 shipping charge. No boxing charge. I ordered 17 pieces of 16x10 glass for a total of 200. Plus 15.00 flat rate shipping. That was freaking excellent. I'll let you know the outcome.😉

Hi Try using a product out there for “sticker” removal. Smells lemony… don’t remember where I got it but maybe Michael’s craft store. Also glue gun cleaner works. Hope it works for you

Try using a solder scrubbing "buddy" or a scouring pad on the residue. Follow with soap and water. I don't think it will take the iridized pattern off. I have dealt with AISG for years, and they are very good people.

Yea unfortunately back when I got this glass I tried the long list of things pinned in my comment, that none of which worked! This was not just normal tape residue. Glass is long gone now though! And as I mentioned, so many people suggested AISG, thats why i tried them! However, In a less then pleasant experience with them I found out that my gut was right in mistakes were made with this order from new employees. Bummer! Maybe one day I will publicly read the emails, but for now, just as I was when I posted this video, I'm not trying to be negative!

Absolutely will keep it in mind! Thank you! And definitely. It sucked. I was so excited and I had been recommended them so many times, so when it went wrong I was so lost to what the heck happened. 😂 I mean, even now I still just blame it on the person who I was emailing having a bad day or something and the new employees that weren't supposed to tape iridescent ever. But, It was WEEKS of getting them to respond via email. I was so nice, totally understanding that things just happen but I was talked too almost as if I did something wrong. Then was also TOLD that I had to say something specific to my subscribers which is a line crossed for me. Particularly when im having a bad experience. In the end I said they only had to replace the pieces I couldn't use at all. The rest I cut the edges off and threw away. Granted i never used ANY of the remaining white glass. BUT I was totally fine with that, shit just happens sometimes. But I said thank you so much and I wasnt upset, got no response ever again and waited quite some time for my refund. Left a nasty taste in my mouth. & the money is irrelevant at this point. It was the experience as a whole. I still have a sneaking suspicion it was glue tape those new employees used. Like gorilla glue tape. It was the wierdest thing id ever experienced. 😂😬Nevermind the tape being on iridescent period. We will never know!!! Lol!!! But it's hard for me to want to buy from them again knowing the customer service I got, should one of you guys ever have a problem. The tape alone was a nightmare that i battled for MANY hours. And when i say hours i mean hours. Trying to remove "TAPE RESIDUE." Nuts. Then the emails just sealed the deal. I'm so torn. I truly want to give it another go because so so many people have nothing but good to say. It's hard. Idk. 😫😫😂😂

@@MakenzieHallie Sorry to hear you had such a poor experience. I am fortunate that I can see the items before I purchase them and don't have to go through the gooey tape problem. I wish I had contacted you sooner with the "scrubby" idea. If they had to use tape, I guess they should have taped the back, non-iridized side of the glass. Still a bother, but perhaps you could have used the glass on the covers of your box items. Best to you. Am enjoying your videos.

That sticky mess is awful! I hope they work something out with you. I’ve gone to AISG a few times and they are the best! My first time there, I told them I was curious about the hakko 601 iron and they pulled one out, and pulled out a practice glass panel and let me try it out. Plus their glass selection is amazing! I would love to see a glass shopping video from you there!!

Just found your channel yesterday and have watched a few videos. You do an excellent job of explaining everything. I just ordered some basic supplies from Anything in Stained Glass, but didn't notice before submitting that they are 2 weeks behind on shipping. I also didn't realize that they are only 1.5 hours from me. I'm going call and find out if I can pick it up. If not, then I'll buy it in the store and cancel the order when they send me the shipping charge.

I just received my first anything stained glass order a few days ago and got mostly solder and came but did get a cute lil glass pack that was on sale. Fortunately since it was a glass pack, they were uniform sizes and in a smaller box inside the big box, WITH NO TAPE. In MY humble opinion, they only put that little tape note on the box because they have to know it's problematic. You can use a thicker shipping tape or a painters tape (which I personally use to ship my finished glass pieces out) and avoid it all together. Yes, it would be a higher cost to them, but without a doubt less headache for both them and the customer.. and depending on how they handle your tape debacle, the shitty tape probably ends up costing them more in the long run. It would really shatter the new glass happiness for me personally.

I have been ordering from anything in stained glass for over 20 years wiSorry you have had a sticky mess problem. Try a small area using a little of your cutting oil. It has worked for me with a few residue issues.

Try finishing compound either Clarity or Liva stained glass polish. The stickiness should come off easier.

That sucks about all the stickiness! I have ordered from them at least four or five times but only 12 x 12 size, and it is always just wrapped with that thick brown bumpy paper with cardboard on the outsides for stability, then taped all together. I guess with that size glass they don't have to tape it down to anything, so I've never had the tape on glass issue. At least now you know you can order it without tape! 🤷‍♀️😁

You can try some rubbing alcohol, wd40, or nail polish remover. Idk if it will mess with the irradecents. But its worth a try

I've ordered from Delphi, bradstreet, lesley glass hut, rainbow art, sunshine glassworks, and stained glass for less. Nobody uses sticky tape, and I've never had any problems, roughly 120 pieces of 12 by 12 so far with no breakage. Some do the layers of cardboard, some do a 12 by 12 bubble wrap in between. Last order of 8 pieces of double glue chip, they put all 8 together, and did a five wrap bubble... No chips, scratches, or breaks to my surprise. I'm thinking about an order with anything in stained glass after seeing your first video, good to know about the tape issue. Unfortunately, I'm looking for some transparent blue, purple, and blue-green, and every manu they list, they are out of stock. I'm not sure the chemistry about removing the sticky, but if you wish to send me a piece of an edge, I can ask the guys at work. I saw you used acetone, but there are other chemicals I cannot pronounce that may work. It may even be possible to remove the sticky using a packing tape, or maybe goo-be-gone. John

Buy some mineral spirits from Walmart. Very cheap and it will melt the residue very quickly and not damage the glass. Wash the glass with warm soapy water after the mineral spirits dry. Opt for no tape next time

I am so upset with you over this tape situation. There def something to sticky tape and indecent glass that makes it impossible. I've had sticky messes before. I am sad you had to cut it off. I soak mine in bathtub in boiling or even just hot hot water before anything else. I love their company. I understand they couldn't have predicted this but still.... I hope they can make this right...we have evidence. Love the video update. I've ben excited and waiting for this. I wish you had a warehouse by you like I do. I live about an hour from Youghiogheny Glass warehouse and a really great local shop so I don't order online either. However if I would have needed something I couldn't get online, I would choose Anything stained glass. So good to know about the tape issue.

Nice glass & that sucks you had to deal with that tape... If I order, do you know if your glass come from Anything In Stained Glass MD or Anything In Stained Glass AR...? Does your shipping label show... Also re the tape... Hopefully that wont happen again but if it does, use a hair dryer on the tape, warm it up pretty good before pealing it off. If you take it off SLOW enough it shouldn't rip. After you get the tape off Spray on Goo Gone on the glue tape residue that's left on the glass and let it sit for for about 15 min.. Then use a straight edge razor blade to remove the rest of the residue/googone...

I’ve ordered from SW art glass online a few times, they don’t put tape on any of the glass. Instead, they put styrofoam on the edges inside the box with other packaging between every single sheet.

@@MakenzieHallie I will say it’s a pain in the ass sometimes because the pictures they use don’t always match the actual glass. I’ve had a couple sheets come that are not even the same color. So I’ve learned to search the internet to verify the color. Just takes more time. And as a warning so you don’t fall into the same issue!

Try putting the glass in hot water for 30 minutes ,it should melt down the tape leftovers. You can also try WD-40 oil spray and rub it off.

There's a product called Goof Off that will get tape residue off quickly. Get the liquid, not the gel spray.

Oh no! girl use some googone or wd40 from Walmart it sounds silly but it will work I PROMISE! spray it on let it sit 10 mins and it will scrape off with a plastic gift card easily :( that's what I've had to use before

Funny, I just happened to be looking at their website for the first time just a little while ago and then I saw this video about the tape residue situation and could not believe the frustration that tape caused you. lighter fluid- as in zippo lighter (tho not necessarily that brand) will just wipe off any tape or glue residue :) edit; sorry i couldnt get this tip to ya sooner but this abolutely works!

Use a hair dryer. Warm up the tape. It will come off easier

I won't be ordering anything from them till they figure out the tape thing. I've ordered from other places and they ship with cardboard between the sheets and then taped it all together but not on the glass itself. The residue sounds like a nightmare. You cant be the first one to complain about this.
