Here's a old boy scout trick if you want to make it easy to clean the soot off your pots and when cooking over a wood fire wipe a little dish soap on the bottom of the pot . I use lux liquid dish soap it's cheap.just try to stay away from the top inch or so of the pot this trick works extremely well. I can't believe no one shows is on you tube

I purchased this kit about 2 weeks ago and I used today for the first time on a open fire. I cooked potatoes ,onions ,slide garlic and beef cubes for lunch. It worked rather well I pre treated with oil to help with sticking had a little sticking but I think it might get better the more it gets seasoned. The pot worked Good for boiling water for Coffie. The fire was very hot and had no warping. Cleaned up really easy.

Arizona? Haven't seen a gravel "lawn" anywhere else I've lived. Seems like a solid mess kit. I use one of the old surplus ones that mate up with a canteen. It's cool to have but it actually kinda sucks to cook with.
@auraroldan14205 жыл бұрын
Quick fact to clean your open fire pots. Get some wood ash add some water to make soft past then add that to the outside part of your pan. You can use it on open flame and ones you are done you can just rinse with water and it comes out clean.

It’s a nice little set, I just finished making breakfast out of mine too. When I first got it, I noticed the pan bottom seemed a little flimsy. After cooking with it once, it seem to of gotten tighter and not so flimsy.

I love my kit. The only downfall is the pan base tends to warp and after time gets kinda hard to place the pan perfectly on a camp stove. But it's definitely worth the 5$

If it comes to a bug out grab some oven racks to cook on. They work great. How much does this kit cost?
@Iridium2425 жыл бұрын
I think it was around 6 dollars at walmart. I have some smaller grills that are made for small fires, picked them up at the goodwill, perfect size too
@bware19185 жыл бұрын
@@Iridium242 Thanks man. I will grab a couple. Used to carry an oven rack in my Jeep when we were out in the mountains. A couple of rocks around the hot ashes and it did great for years. Cleaned up easy too. Trying to find a surplus store close to me but nothing so far. Hard to believe in this area. My kit is almost done just fine tuning it. Take care bud!
