Very informative content, Sir! I have a question about the concept of the point load of total dead load you explained at 7:41. Should the point load be applied at the center of mass of the first flight with the attached landings, and not at the center of the beam directly? Am I right that the point load should be divided by the total area of the waist slab and landing slabs to distribute the load through the slabs and then apply the concept of one-way slab to transfer the area load to the two beams? The formula will still be the same, I am just asking about the concept/principle of how the calculated point load be distributed to the beams. Thanks.

Sir at duration 14:05 when you applying 21.46 load on mid landing. Actually woh 21.46×2 ni hona chahiye? Because first flight se 21.46 load ayega landing beam pe and second flight se bhi toh ayega 21.46 load ussi beam pe.

At mid landing, half weight from either flight acts, so it will be 21.46

Here the concept is we are calculating total load on stair case and distributing on beams ......it means how ever we have simply supported beam calculations.... it means if the load acting symmetrically on beams then the load transfer to the reactions is half load. Here the reactions are the beams right.... and one more thing u have calculated all loads on stair case but on this beams wall load also will act....but I did not find any wall load.....because in the mid landing beam remaining half part filled with wall hence we need consider that load also... Am I correct??? Pls reply

The result obtained through modelling of staircase on buliding and that by applying stair load on the beam vary greatly. What might be the reasons?

if we don’t model stairs then we are neglecting the stiffness provided by staircase. Hence the rebar area in column varies with modeling case and for stair UDL case.

@@civilconst Thank you sir for your reply. When applying stair load directly on beam , we get high amount rebar on all beams, columns as compared to stair modelling. In your opinion which method is best to follow as per practicality?

@@sajibsdhrestha7680 staircase model gareko nai raamro ho but rebar distribution unusual aaucha as more seismic force is attracted near staircase region so contractor ra client lai bujhauna saknu paryo .. tehi ho 😅😅

@@civilconst Tei ho site ma practise ma chai wall ma stair support garainxa landing lvl ma. Column sanga stair ko connection nai garainaa short column effect prevent garne vanera. Tyo hisab le chai stair model nagarne nai thik lagxa feri. Confuison nai xa yo kura ma chai.

@@sajibsdhrestha7680 Landing beam provide gareko better ho.. masonry wall crush huna sakcha directly rest garaudaaa.. landing beam lai Ld na diyera provide gardaa short column effect neglect garna sakincha but short column lai consider garera rebar nikaleko raamro..

Since we need to transfer load to the landing beam, and also keeping in mind that it might induce short column effect, what can be done to achieve our objective? What if we assign landing beam as null? Does it work?

If you are considering fixed support for landing beam, null element won't work for you. But if you are providing landing beam as platform for load transfer to wall below it then you can provide null element beam. Depends upon your consideration.

Please check at @16:00 . I have assigned the load on the landing beam. And the landing slab and beam are monilithically casted, so the top of the landing slab and beam is the same.
