So much progress on the Dream Garage Build to share with you. The stairs are finally in as are the drains but it wasn't as easy as we thought it was going to be !

Peter, I know how very exciting stairs and paint can be. It really gives you the full dimensions of the space. (Never look at your build when there’s just breezeblock. We thought oh no, it’s so small). Just a thought about lighting. If you haven’t done so, Philips Hue lights giving you automation can help greatly. It can be set to recognise when you leave and turn all (or some) of the lights off. You can also sequence them so it gives the impression of occupation for security. It can be fitted light by light, just using bulbs, wireless switches and/or an app. Great fun and efficient. Can’t wait to see the finished article. Enjoy, you have both worked hard for it. It's coming on at pace now Pete but what happened with the drains? Surely they should have been laid before any of the concrete floors? Are you going to paint those lovely stairs or maybe stain them to show the wood off? Being a sparky it's always interesting to watch other tradesmen at it for a change! Look forward to the next video!

The concrete slab was there already. We just built off it so we were always going to have to dig the drains out. Stairs are going to be painted apart from the treads which will just have a wax.

How will you ever repaint behind that balaustrade and hand rail. Looks so tight and painted before staircase went in ??? Why is that column blue near the stairs, is it a steel clad in pb and painted, think it would have looked better stained wood. Generally beautiful tho😊

Yeah it’s a tight fit. Painted before it went in. Not sure which blue column you mean. If it’s the main column from the foot of the stairs to the landing then it is timber clad in plaster board 👍
