I absolutely LOVED this!!!! There are truly only a hand full of groups/artists that “stand the test of time” and Led Zeppelin absolutely tops that list!!! Well, imo 🤷‍♀️ And this is definitely one of, if not, THE best rock songs every written, composed, recorded, performed!! (Kashmir is actually my fav Zeppelin song, but that doesn’t take anything away from Stairway!!) They trick you into believing/feeling you are about to experience a beautiful ballad, then slap you back into reality with a jamming rock song!! 🤣 And I’ve never thought about the simplicity in the “jamming” part, like you said, because of Jimmy Page’s masterful guitar work!! Thank you so much for your input on this classic piece of rock history, that will live on forever … because it is the best rock song ever!!!! I hope all is well my friend!!! 💞

Ha, brilliant timing for this one, as I happen to be currently surrounded by Led Zeppelin books! Not mine though, just dogsitting in a house of a huge fan 😁 This is certainly one of those rock songs that stands time and just works. It has such a unique melody that it can be easily recognised by only a few chords from almost any part.

i never liked led zeppelin. their songs always feel too repetitious for me. i only song i like is 'when the levy breaks' because the drummer goes ham on those cymbals like a mid 90's hardcore drummer.
