My next Black Hat Bushcraft trick on the beach. Thank you for that useful and secure demonstration.

Good to see you out having fun ! I find that small sandbag works well at the beach. Just fill , use, then dump. Trick the kids into filling them , lol.
@blackhatbushcraft3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! I actually have some sand bags with this shelter but when I pulled it all out, somehow they got left behind. This was my best solution to improvise. Thank you for tuning in and sharing!

Great video; amazing how you were able to transpose your stake-skills to sand-terrain; I love it. I do believe you had the best-secured shelter out on that beach. It looks like you and your family had a great time together; thanks for sharing. Rich Blessings

Thanks, Matt. 2 of my guy lines detached themselves in the night from the gravel beach I last camped on. I'll give this a shot next time!

Thanks for creating! Could you clarify on the knots used? Think I heard bowline, toggled bowline, and unsure about the one used for stake. I also couldn’t make out reasoning about the direction of stake and length of guy line. I appreciate your response!

I do the same thing with a tarp and some long sticks when camping on the beach, including tying something loose on the guy lines so I don't trip over them.

Hey I was wondering the four days documentary says it "contains strong language" . How strong is it?
@blackhatbushcraft3 жыл бұрын
Hey Gail, I honestly am not sure. I wasn't part of that production and I have only seen clips from it so far. I need to get a hold of it so I can see it myself honestly. Kevin Baxter or Shawn Kelly could tell you. Sorry I can't give you specifics Gail.

I was considering those huge over-priced spiral stakes, but now... screw that! My main problem at the local beach is to stake without hitting a pebble, rock or stone but once in, they hold!
