Iowa state 125 refused to attack, 184 could not attack below the waist, 197 had nothing, but 125 and 184 should have made attempts to win. Brutal to watch.

I know ISU has lost a shit ton of points letting that 197#'er from Alburnett get away to South Dakota State 5 years ago! It probably would have only taken a phone call, he was headed to DIII Coe College until a final hour offer from SDSU. What a steal!

That is certainly true, but it is one thing to try but fail due to an error, and another to fail to try out of fear of making a mistake. All wrestlers and coaches make errors, but there is nothing more dreadful, both to watch and to experience, than simply standing around hoping to win.@@dramaking9377

I'm remote from wrestling since moving to Dallas in 1959. But ISU's domination of college wrestling in Iowa seemed to be broken when Harold Nichols left ISU, Dan Gable went to Iowa, and Cael Sanderson to Penn State. And ISU seems not to figure in the national competitions on KZbin these days. But do you figure that ISU is on a par with Iowa?

I have been watching the Iowa Vs. Iowa State dual since 1976. During that era, it was extremely competitive and many times they were ranked #1 and #2. At some point, it got lopsided. It's fantastic for the sport that Dresser and his crew has lifted ISU out of the ashes.

Iowa won the dual, Iowa State wrestled like old hard nosed Iowa. Iowa State started early last year wrestling tough. They dwindled down by March (Aside from Carr) Here is my question. Which team has the better chance getting more guys on the podium in March? It looks like more of Iowa State even though they lost the dual. Iowa State: 7 potentials, Iowa (if Arnold stays in Redshirt) 2 to 4 pending Brands and Cassioppi returning. I would like to see Arnold use his last freshman match against Carter. Win or loose then go back to Redshirt. Then a potential 4 timer at 174/184.

I haven't watched it yet but if iowa got 1 stall call that is embarrassing plain and simple, that is not the iowa way, maybe prior to gable but after him it was im going to beat the crap out of u mentally and physically regardless if I win or lose, iowa has rarely recruited a take down artist but they will beat u physically and again mentally, but to get any stall calls is again if there legit simply embarrassing, I loved watching Tim amd Terry compete but they need to retire already, there recruiting of late is anything but spectacular while penn keeps recruiting year after year dang stud muffins, and penn keeps making these crew better while iowa they just stay where they are at, a few years ago I think 5 in the finals and no champs??????? Iowa literally won it all 2 years ago and were #1 the covid year. There is no magic fix to be better than PSU, they are the standard right now and probably until Cael leaves. They have rolled out a freshman who has AA wins at 74 and 84, the Fararri's, a top HW and more. They are still recruiting.
