How to unlock (spoilers) Make your way to 20-5 to unlock Lament Rain (you’ll also read 20-6 by starting the song). When you try looking at 20-7, it’ll just say nothing… hm. If you go to Chapter 9 of World Mode, you’ll find new world map for Nell (Compassion). Progress like normal until you come across a stone tile. Clearing a song won’t get you anywhere. Go back to story mode and click on Nell’s character portrait next to her story nodes. Then hold the character in the partner screen. She’ll start glowing white and turn to her alt form. This is all you gotta do to pass the stone tiles. Just clear some songs and make it to the top. …Or not. Eventually you’ll come across a tile that forces Hard gauge onto you. Clearing won’t do anything, so you’ll have to get some TRACK LOSTs to go backwards. Yup you did all that for nothing. Not really, cuz now there’s a weird void tile at the bottom, a restriction to Lament Rain. Play the song like normal, but then you’ll notice some weird red traces at the end that look like heartbeats. Touch the heartbeats as if they were sky notes. That’ll send you to this song. Well that was something, let’s check up on L real qui- uh oh

I should also add how to unlock the secret terminal song (spoilers) After unlocking this, and reading the rest of the chapter, when you play Designant again, not only the background animation is on all the time, but there are red sky notes as well. Play like normal, but you have to tap all of the red sky notes. If those went transparent, you failed.

@@MangInutilAdditional detail, you get a little icon at the bottom showing you how many red notes you already missed. I'm pretty sure you can miss up to 5.

I have to add that you don’t actually need to play once you’re at the stone tiles - just let the chart run its course and you’ll progress.

the red notes version feels like a 13 to me the chart itself feels harder than testify whenever you first try it but it starts to feel like an 11.7 or 8. After the stupid slow section the difficulty goes down a lot but is still really hard though the same thing for lament rain, it definitely feels like an 11.4-5 when you first play it but then once you learn the timings and how to play patterns comfortably it starts to feel like a really fun 11.1

Listening skills, the speed here is the only killer, so if you try to treat it like a normal speed part, it's just 10+ Also the rhythm is repeated like, 10 times.

The red notes are just for the terminal song tho, trying to play designant with the red notes is pretty much impossible just because of the red notes placements

@marinang. Someone did an Ex+ in the red notes version. As people can play fanmade BYD 12+ or above, this actually made me wonder who will PM the red notes version. Update: 2 people have PMed the middle drop with red notes.

Despite being the very first BYD 11+ song to be in the game, it still doesn't beat Testify when it comes to note count as Testify has 2221 but Designant would be in 2nd place. But the main question...Is it harder than Testify despite it being an 11+ 🤷🏻‍♂️

i think testify focusing on brute force to spam + 6 lanes to handle, whereas Designant focusing on accuracy of slow parts… Testify is still harder in general.

Testify is rough to play with thumbs Anomaly version of Designant is harder due to the speedup being faster, as well as the red notes

Unfortunately, the only way is not to unlock the terminal song. There is alternative. Copy the whole chart to ArcCreate and replace red notes to sky notes

I heard that on hitting level 20 insight becomes usable and you can get the red notes back if you seal her and use her on designant.

Kill me for having a hot take or anything. But am I the only one who thinks Testify's easier than this? After playing it a lot of times, my brain just couldn't keep up with the chart at all. 😭

Eh, a handful of people share that point of view with you. To me though, this chart is just hard at handling technical aspects, while Testify has dumb bursts (lots of it), and I found the 1st problem easier to solve (at least for now)

It's not a wild take. Testify is 12.0 while Designant is 11.9. Think of how often people disagree with chart constants by just 0.1. Skillsets and preferences alone could make one hace such an opinion, it's completely normal

Testify is slightly harder than this chart, if not accounting the red notes session in the anomaly. The anomaly one definitely beats Testify and it is to me the toughest mobile rhythm game chart of all times

@@abcdef-ms9mbI mean yeah, now finally clearing with the normal gauge, I could see why it is 11+ But to me personally Testify's just way easier. It's much more sightreadable and it's just hard for the sake of hard. Designant. just completely destroys my hands every run. 💀 Let's see in the near future, but so far, it's not sticking up with me as of the moment.
