Starving any living creature is evil: Doing it to your own people is double that. I don't even think this channel gave _all_ the details, if I recall correctly, as some are almost too horrific to be spoken outloud. It was so bad that even n@zis were risking their lives to try to save people from the horrors. @luckysin98392 жыл бұрын
@@VexaraxI did and have watched a couple of films about it also (including that one you perhaps refer to, where there's that 'Good German' who owns a factory over there or is running it and whilst being present there witnesses firsthand himself the atrocities the Japanese committed and tried to do what he could by e.g. writing a letter back to the (Nazi) German Government trying to let them know of what was happening in perhaps with hindsight would seem maybe naive or terribly ironic if indeed they would render the civilians of Nanking any help seeing as the Nazis themselves would continue to do increasing morally corrupt and murderous acts of their own stretching ultimately into the millions (consisting mostly of those whom they deemed as being unworthy of life justified by their perversion of science and blind, stupid hate). I believe even despite his probable lack of support from back home, his status as a German national afforded him a level of protection and power that he was then able to make full use of to shelter and try protect people (I believe inside the grounds of his factory etc. as he classed it as 'German property' which he didn't kindly take to any uninvited intrusion upon; the Japanese simply didn't want to risk any chance of upsetting the relationship between Germany and Japan, both friendly countries allied to one another, so from what I recall they were weary at first and allowed him to establish services and run a small community that would do it's best to secure the essentials all the citizens within his designated safety zone to survive. For some time this worked as best it could and from memory the man was regarded as a hero back in the part of Nanking where he was known (all despite being a Nazi) - but my memory isn't as complete as it might be, otherwise I'd recommend the titles of the film's I've seen on it for a better understanding than my patchy recollections. I suppose if I'm blunt and honest, and because I'm a little too tired to think anymore about it deeply at the moment: What sets the two apart is probably just the Cannibalism. Plain and simple. And also whilst there's absolutely no disagreement about the numbers involved in the quite literal rape of Nanking... actually in some ways both situations share parallels of the soldiers being left to run wild and do as they pleased to whoever and whatever they pleased, so too I suppose did the stronger and more prepared to fight for their lives malicious of the men (some of whom were prisoners, arguably someone already a murderer might be in a better place to umm...murder again right?). But yeah Stalin's incident was more a man made engineered one whereas the Japanese rape of Nanking was less planned and not such an artificial situation arising naturally from conflict and fighting of WWII, indeed I believe even the Japanese command told their soldiers to turn it down a little as even they were somewhat shocked at the brutality and sacking of the city (of course, I don't equate or imply any level of compassion here for the Chinese people, the generals had other motivations in mind for issuing orders for soldiers to behave themselves more.) Anyway, sorry, I should of said this stands out because it's more like a true Battle Royale situation, which was a poor plan turned out very badly and honestly, this only came to my attention for the first time within the last two years or so - it's no doubt one of the more lesser known ones with Nanking being way more better known about (but still not enough!). Thanks~ :)

@@luckysin9839 - I didn't see that movie, but he was actually a N@zi party leader and was begging Hitl3r to send aid. A lot of videos and documentaries gloss over who he actually was. Him and n@zi members of his party were lying on women and kids as they were being attacked to try to shield their bodies, and yes used their n@zi symbol as a form of protection knowing the Japanese would be scared to attack them. What makes Nanking so bad is the share scale of the atrocities committed - pregnant women being r@ped to death as they slowly gave birth and being forced to watch their babies impaled alive, women having fireworks shoved inside them and set off, children having their "parts" sliced open to be more easily gang r@ped, sons forced to r@pe their mothers, fathers forced to r@pe their daughters, priests forced to r@pe nuns.. bits being cut off people who were _then_ r@ped with their own missing limbs. And that's only some of it. Literal rivers of blood as thousands upon thousands upon thousands died screaming and a small group of terrified n@zis ran around trying to save and protect who they could. It's an extremely bizarre case that's often not accurately portrayed due to just how much we all hate n@zis.. but the fact that it was bad enough for even them to risk life and limb as demons tore a city apart just illustrates the scale of atrocity. My info comes from the book written with survivor stories and journals from the n@zi party members who survived etc, as well as some missionaries and other non-involved Europeans who were present. Jocko covered it in his podcast, and was actually weeping and shaking trying to read out the details - A hardened veteran struggling through tears as he reads about children being gang r@ped to death :c and the survivors of initial attacks being left to slowly die in agony with their "parts" sliced open and organs exposed.. it's definitely right up their with the worst I've come across :c Sorry for such a morbid topic, I'm actually shocked at how few people know the extent of what happened at Nanking so it's good to meet someone who knows of it!! The cannibalism wasn't just confined to this island. Under Stalin it was quite wide spread. There were a few towns if memory serves me correct people would say if you seen someone that looked healthy it was either because they were eating other people or were going to be the victim of cannibalism.

"skewers from willow branches"?? That's like saying you roasted a hot dog on a wet spaghetti noodle, willows are known for their flimsy, drooping branches, that, when little, and your mom says "go find me a switch" you learn real, quick, fast, and in a hurry, to never grab a willow branch, because they sting, so bad.

JESUS CHRIST! The Soviets were fucking Dirlewanger-dirty... I'm not going to disgrace the man who uncovered this by butchering his name, he's the definition of a diamond in the rough, a fire and a warm blanket in a cold world. Even as an atheist I can only say: God bless him...

I saw a movie with a similar theme. It wasn't so long ago though. More modern day Russians, I think prisoners were left on an island for some reason with minimal supplies. I can't remember the name of the movie. If this rings a bell leave a reply.

How did they expect to grow mass amounts of crops in Siberia? That’s an immediate recipe for disaster. Always stuck out for me about Stalin’s Commercialization (with regards to the USSR territories anyways)
