My headcanon is the Skif's nickname is an allegory for the boat type Skiff. Skif is nothing more than a vessel meant to ferry one person (or world) to the next world for a couple of coupons similar to the Greek ferryman myth. Other than that this is the best ideal ending for the greater world. Access to the Zone is like cheating, humanity was simply not ready or never will be ready for the higher mysteries of the universe the Zone offers.

Strelok tried to cancel Zone, since Humans are obviously too stupid to handle it's existence. They will keep trying to exploit, manipulate and twist it. So if Zone can't be cancelled, Strelok must lock it down, forever. I agree with such viewpoint.

I agree, there is a generator area that we cannot reach in the normal game using the game's commands (flying), but it is quite ready. The story will definitely continue with the DLC.And we'll go back to the heart of the generator. You know what I mean, the cloudy part on the map.

I feel like you got the endings mixed up. This ending means that NO ONE can use the zone for power ever. Strelok locked it and everyone in there. All the other endings are people using it for power and control.

@@AdibAkmal-ub6cc the game over and over showed us that there's not much "populance" or something remotely good in the zone. Everyone is lying and it's a safe heaven for gangs and psychoes of any sorts. People go to the zone because they're hiding from the law or because they failed their "civilian" life, just like merc going to war zone hoping to make some cash there disregarding the ways. Good people usually die there in horrible ways. It's essentially a generic war zone, but also with man eating and mind controlling mutants and minefields of anomalies in random places. Yeah, right, what can be better than expanding this to the whole world! Lots of job opportunities for psychoes or ptsd war scarred veterans like skif. Yay!

~ 80 hours of playtime in stalker 2 and 17 years of waiting for this ending! I loved every single second of this ending! Now let's play for at least 500 more hours and discover everything in the zone :D Wuhuuuuu I love this game dude... such a fun time playing it!

I got Skifs ending, which I felt like was a semi decent ending, no ending is truly good, the zone's expansion is a bit of a bummer, and I can't believe Faust diddled me but hey ho. Streloks ending feels very final, stopping the zone from harming anyone else, ensuring humanity can return to normal. Personally I see Streloks ending as the best outcome for humanity, just not the stalkers, so it's probably the "good" ending.

@@therealgangstashit With the zone locked down tho stalkers have no access to resources from the mainland, and since the zone isn't self sufficient it's only a matter of time before stalkers are reduced to eating eachother. Resources are already scarce in the zone Without a complete cutoff.

I love how each ending has some sort of fucked up element to it. In skifs ending you let the zone choose, thereby condemning the world. In this ending, you are protecting the zone from hostile play, protect the world from the zone, but also condemn everyone inside the zone to be there forever. In scars ending, well you know 😂. And in sircaa ending, sure humanity will get better technology but at what cost (potential world domination?). Also u become an agent in that ending lol. I love the story to this game I remember early reviewers said the story was kinda mid and im so glad they were wrong.

Not really. Strelok essentially chained her up forever. Sure she will be safe, But at the ultimate cost. Skif's ending is thematically more appropriate IMO. If you truly love something then let it go.

I went for this ending on my first playthrough. Shooting Monolithians with Scar's Gauss Rifle left and right and dying like 4 times to one of them also carrying Gauss Rifles. Intense, sometimes frustrating moments but pulling through was fun as fuck.

Why it's bad? it's true neutral. Strelok prevented the zone from robbing. It reminded me a bit of col.Rodionov story in Metro 2033 book series in the book called The Right for Revenge.The character changed and was keeping the base from robbing to save his apprentice.

While I like the Skiff ending the most as a player, the Strelok ending seems like the "best" option overall. The Zone is protected both inside and out by its first legend, who now leads the biggest army in the Zone. Strelok keeps the outside world safe from the Zone, while also shielding the Zone itself from the influence of governments and scientists.

Strelok deceived Skif and was even ready to kill him after leaving the laboratory, but at the last moment he still decided to give him life in the locked Zone and gave the order to the Monolith to retreat.

@ yes, but the whole staging of this scene tells us that Strelok didn't know until the very end what to do with Skif: kill him or leave him. The fact that the monolith was waiting for him at the door shows that Strelok called them there because when Skif realizes that he was deceived, he can come back and shoot Strelok, like he did in Shadow of Chornobyl

Tbh every ending has its positive and negative sides. Depends on the point what the zone is: if u look at it as threat or danger Streloks ending is the hard way of saving the planet from becoming one big zone. But if u accept the dangers of it and see it as an oportunity for the humankind it could be a benefit. Both endings give freedom for society Streloks one preserves everything how it is through setting boundaries to the zone and Kaymanovs by partially destroying the planet and having an oportunity to study the benifits of the zone. Kaymanov and Stalker both lied Stalker didnt say how he will set the Zone free and Kaymanov didnt say that he was Faust all the time and has been brainwashing people...

Interesting that: - Strelok controls the monolith via Radio frequency, and not neural waves (confirms CCon frequency isnt the same monoliths are connected) - CCon cant control physically the zone (creating anomalies or so) if they could, strelok would have created a anomalous cordon

Imo this is the true ending, even tho strelok said will kill on sight anyone tryna enter or leave, it's doesnt specific said how he gonna do so, and people will always find a way into it, strelok becoming the next monolith, someone will become the next ward, the next sircaa trying to control the zone and strelok will try to protect it, it's a long going battle that may perhaps lead to another Stalker game in the next 10 fucking years

I'd call it the lesser evil ending, the zone is Contained at the cost of its inhabitants all being doomed to eventually perish from a lack of resources from the mainland. It's at least less scary compared to giving sircaa uncontested control over the noosphere and trusting them to Not abuse that power to take over the world. At least with the strelok ending only a few thousand people die.
