I guess the best weapon in 5.56 category is HK416 Assault rifle it has best stats for that category plus comes with M203 grenade launcher by default without upgrade. I havent seen FN FNC but HK is the best I have seen so far... way ahead of even best M4 alternatives I have seen so far. Though I have seen FN FAL but its other category. But then I dont use these asualt rifles. I prefer 12 bore mag based guns better for close combat like vepr-12 hammer or Siaga-12 S... but any multishots 12 bore will do if thats only thing I can get.

Best shotgun is the MP153. 8 rounds of rock'n roll to wipe out mutants and unarmored guys with one shot. Usually going with Fort 17, MP153 and AEK 971, PSO scope for DMR purposes and red dot for normal gunfight

Best weapons that compliment each other are aek 971 (cheap ammo, good gun in general) and some automatic shotgun (cheap ammo, shotguns are devastating at close range and againts mutants)

I run a Saiga-12 + AEK-971 setup. The AEK is overall the best assault rifle, and the Saiga decimates mutants.

And I say a sniper rifle like G3SG1 or Barret and plus a mag based shot gun like vepr-12 hammer or Siaga-12S for close combats and use only buckshots ammo on that....smile But can use any other worthy scoped rifle as well s sniper rifle. But G3 got the best zoom in the game with okay ammo power (Nato balls) and Barrets got best ammo power with okay enough zoom. But then they are heavy too... so M98B will be good choice among Barrets cause its medium weight than M82 and not so rare ammo even if lil rare. Plus it can have silencer good for stealthy kills especially at night times.... And lil less on your ears if u use headphones. 😂 And never ever under estimate the power of knife... u can use knife or axe as for too-close combat too. ;) ...sometimes its very useful and the only last option.... I mean when your guns have been snatched and u left with that thing only. :) And if u attack from crouched position u have more chance of success getting away with kill and getting your weapon back. I did it many times sucessfuly with monoliths even as a rookie. I mean those bastards always snatch my gun...LOL

I have them all in a stash as well as the AEK973 in the syndicates central base. I'm thinking which one to repair. Currently my loadout is remington 800, a Mosins Nagant with a PU scope and a Glock 19.

Man it's amazing, what modders can do. This 12 years old game feels like modern Escape from Tarkov with all this hardcore and realistic stuff. Just hope, that Stalker 2 will be as realistic, as ANOMALY or MISERY. Normally i don't like play games this hard but in my opinion it really fits to the game with realistic, difficult gameplay features and enemies. Idk, but playing Stalker on easy or normal feels not right. You must feel the harsh and rotten world.

I died 7(!) times to the same anomaly yesterday while I was hauling my stashes from Army Warehouses to Rostov xD If you're leaving Rostov to the north, shortly after the last duty checkpoint, you can go straight into the Wild Terretory or turn right to go to the Warehouses. On the corner to the right is one of those hanging green plant/acid anomaly ... ran into it 7(!) times while already being low on health *g*

With Boomsticks and Sharpsticks, I went for the DSA SA-58. Overall, 7.62x51mm just outshines most rifle type calibers by a huge margin. That and I am a big FAL boy.

5:34 the barret does more damage as the other rifle has to use sub sonic ammo (aka, reduced powder in the bullet casing) energy is mass times speed squared (iirc)..... so the slower you go, with the same weight bullet.... you get FAR less energy / impact / armor penetration / hydro-static shock / damage . if that rifle used full power 50 BMG..... the silencer would probably explode from the pressure and the sonic crack of just the bullet would be so loud, you might as well just shoot un-suppressed . you would have a better chance at making everyone deaf than having the silencer work lol

I dunno man, the AN-94 Will always hold a special place in my heart, that two round burst with a PSO Scope is a godsend in midrange engagement. Top that off with the GL Upgrade, and you got a very capable skirmish rifle. It’s not that hard to get in the early game, the ammo is plentiful, and it holds it’s own in long-term battles. While I wouldn’t call it the best, it’s been the most reliable for me. That- combo’d with a Pernach, gives you a helluva fighting chance against any other Stalker. When it comes to mutants though? I usually carry along a sawn-off break action. Doesn’t matter which.

Great video as always. I wanted to leave my personal recommendation. For my play style, I always use an automatic rifle with an under barrel grenade launcher. I use a scope, and use single fire primarily. I will switch to under barrel grenade for high tier mutants, or as a panic button for human groups. Being able to rapid switch/reload rifle grenades really takes care of poltergeists and psuedogiants well. I like the Sig550, but I will use whatever is the best condition I can repair or whatever I have most ammo for. If it doesnt have an under barrel grenade, I dont use them. My secondary is usually a semi-auto shotty ASAP. Vepr-12 or a Saiga when able. Shotty is for dog packs/lower tier mutants and CQB room clearing. I will pack a glock for backup and sometimes a mp5 with an acog on single-fire for heavy zombie duty.

Just realized, the 5.45x39 ammo has better AP penetration. 5.56 is only level III. 5.45 has level IV. 5.56 has slightly better base damage though. For me, I think 5.45 wins for me. I've been using an AK-74 and its been doing great so far.

SIG 550 is my general go-to weapon, Steyrs are also pretty good. "Lucky" SIG 550 is also a bit nostalgic. And the sniper 550, while on paper might seem rather bland - heavy, and using ammo much weaker than other dedicated sniper rifles - is actually one of the best medium ranger snipers in the game. Yeah, maybe it doesn't have 12-15x zoom, but such zoom isn't actually very practical. Sniper 550 with adjustable sight and (very common!) silencer offers great balance of punch, accuracy, zoom, holds 20 in a mag and can be used as general rifle in a pinch, and most importantly: has low recoil. These lapua magnum snipers I just find unusable, as the recoil is so high follow up shots are nearly impossible! Of course, Steyr or Scar with a sight can be used at range as well, but their sights can't be made adjustable ;)

After playing a bit more, I have to say: FAL. FAL is absolute king. For long range, just avoid Russian and .338 rifles - in fact, if you don't want/like Gauss, just save up and buy that giant .50 cal launcher. It even accepts KZRP silencer after modification. It straight up beats everything in sniper category.

The G3SG1 (the sniper G3) is a decent 7.62×51 gun. Fully backed out, the scope is about the same power as irons. 20 rounds, manageable recoil, and good damage. Only issue is that only mercs and monolith carry them to my knowledge. The SR25 is a decent-ish substitute however, though it loses 10 rounds for a better zoom. Also the M8 and FAMAS are hilariously broken for 5.56 rifles. Effectively zero recoil, inherently accurate, and compatible with the holo, reflex, and acog optics. They, for me at least, hold the spot that the AUG and Sig 550 held in Call of Chernobyl, basically the godtier of the 5.56 guns... and the Sig had the drawback of a relatively long reload which neither the M8 or FAMAS have. Hard agree with the uselessness of the .338 rifles, too much recoil and too slow for the amount of damage they do. Even the base SVD/SVUs are better inmy opinion.

This video made me decide to trade in my well-upgraded SIG 550 for an FNC - worst decision I ever made, FNC has no scopes and no grenade launcher attachments, making it only really useful for close to mid-range or inside buildings. Really not a versatile weapon at all despite the nice reload speed, nice look and decent stats.

It is, in fact, possible to construct a 7.62x51 battle rifle that has less recoil than a 5.56 assault rifle, provided it has the right recoil dampening technologies. Buuuut... These guns right here do not, so it isn't quite accurate. But really, it's no big deal, it works fine for the game.

Even the weight of the rifle can reduce recoil, a muzzle brake can reduce recoil, hydraulic recoil dampening stock, hydraulic recoil dampening barrel, simply just using a suppressor, and so much more, all of these allow you to maintain the same cartridge. Not that I know that any of these guns in the game have any of these features (I doubt it) Fun fact: In reality suppressors add barrel length and thereby utilize more pressure, adding projectile velocity, and particularly reduce recoil on 7.62mm rifles, as they reduce muzzle rise and flash, which causes recoil.

As far as i know NPCs can instantly fix weapons to full durability when they use them, i have have seen them pick broken F2000 from the group and when i talk to them they were perfect on the trade menu before he equiped it

To answer your confusion about the Barret vs. the VSSK. The Barret does more damage with the same caliber because caliber isn't the only contributing factor to a weapon's velocity. The VSSK has a 17-inch barrel, compared to the Barrets 48-inch barrel. The longer the barrel, the more time the gasses have to propel the round; thus, the faster the round travels. So it does make a lot of sense that the Barret would do much more damage; the Barret should actually do considerably more damage than the VSSK.

M16s-M4s: America and NATO use these sometimes. *yawn* Barret Lapua: Barret made a rifle around a new round, it sucks at anti tank though. M249 SAW: America uses it, jams sometimes though. This contrasts to the stats and flavor text of all the Russian/Czech made guns who get a virtual BJ in both regards.

Fun fact, in real life the AEK has a special mechanism that spread the recoil in the back AND in the front of the barrel simultanously. The result is a very precise weapon with very low recoil... This is super nice to see this chracteristic ported into the game. But this mechanism was of course more expensive to make, so the AK-47 won the war for supremacy weapon amongst the soviet army (or any army in the world actually...)

To me, M249 is the best all rounder: + cheap common ammo, + good damage, + 100 rounds mag, + good accuracy, + no recoil, + you feel like Rambo, - wouldn't call it sneaky, - a bit heavy. I think it beats anything in a game. You can have plenty of ammo everywhere. You can snipe with it (a proper SR in this game is totally not necessary). You can shoot it like a regular AR. And it beats any shotgun against mutants thanks to its massive magazine. If you miss your shotgun shots, you dead, but you can't miss 100 rounds with M249. ;D

I think you need to add a few classes. Those weapons that can have a grenade launcher need to be distinguished from those that can't. If I am in Chimera and Pseudogiant country or need launched grenades vs. a large pack of Burers like in Jupiter Plant (Misery, over 15+), it is almost mandatory. The SCAR-H will probably be the main endgame rifle if you don't need a gl though. Also, it is nice to be able to put a scope on the rifle too.

I have a grenade launcher on my SCAR-H. It is my absolute favourite weapon with the grenade launcher, a silencer and a good scope. Solid accuracy and good fire rate. The only thing that lets it down is the mag size of only 20 rounds.

So my question is did you just test all these guns on single shot? (All that had multiple fire modes) because alot of weapons become alot more accurate in single or burst. My all time favorite AR in Stalker is the AN-94, specifically for the 2rnd burst. It saves ammo, keeps recoil down and is very accurate, especially with a PSO scope! You usually want to switch on full auto when your in desperate situations or close quarters,, to conserve ammo. I think alot of the guns can be useful in single shot rapid fire, your rounds are spraying, but firing in tighter spreads. Not saying your tests don't mean squat, just that they are only valid for firing full auto.

With the Escape from Pripyat mod collection, I would suggest keeping both a 5.45 and 5.56 ready to go so you can rotate them in/out depending on your ammo availability. Break down all heavy ammo except 7.62x51 and stockpile that for your pushes into Monolith territory & final mission. Run either a AK variant with a scope on it, shotgun secondary with a heavy-hitting .45 handgun or a scoped bolt action rifle with an AK and a full auto pistol. Hey, I've found the OTS33-Pernach to be superior to the fort-17 in almost everyway. It's even still usefull mid-game if you want to use your 9x18 ammo ;)

Yep. Unless I need a magnum of some kind in Chimera/Giant country, the Pernach is damn good with that automatic fire and cheap plentiful ammo. No need really for a .45 or 9x19. Leave those for your SMG.

Right now my favorite go to load out is Remington 870 with eotech sight mainly use dart rounds sometime slugs , shotguns are op even at range . As a secondary I use a modded mp7 with around 340 AP rounds everytime I leave my shack, it eats ammo like crazy but is super fun to use .

I still have to find the FN FNC but for now I'm using the AK 101 Camouflaged, it has the power of 5.56Nato and all the attachments of both the AK and Nato sights, it has also the most comfortable grenade launcher since switching doesn't require an animation and is immediate (the hand already is on the gl grip)! Good video!

Weird, i hate the FN FNC, especially because it has no silencer (which is a must have in the zone) and also no grenade launcher, i mostly use SIG 550 and whenever i can, i buy the special one from Nimble, those rifles have a very low recoil and very good accuracy.

I've found really good usage out of the CZ-75- not entirely because of its stats, but because of its animations. It's really quick to draw, really quick to reload, and if you upgrade it fully (about ~40k) it fires ludicrously fast and is ridiculously accurate. I stopped using .45's because of how great of a weapon it is, and sometimes I even use it in lieu of a good shotgun. Also the ironsights don't make me want to die like the SIG P220 Alpine does.

Light machineguns are either automatic rifles that are light enough to be operated by a single bloke, or a family of automatic weapons that are lighter than the base variant. Depends on what classification system you use, but what you are showing there aren't light machineguns.

The FAL having that little recoil makes absolutely no sense. IRL it was notorious for its recoil and being uncontrollable while fired full auto.

Stalkers mutated in the zone and just think that exoskeleton help you with that. Of course it's not an intermediate cartridge like 7,62x39 which controls quite easily nowadays, thanks to muzzle brakes/ compensators. But no way rifle cartridges should have that little amount of of recoil.

There's quite a few AUGs (normal, custom, etc) but I don't know how the debug menu works. Monolith guys tend to drop them at a decent rate especially if you go to certain story areas or assault a base in Warfare mode. The merc vendor in dead city and the guy in Freedom main base both sell it too.

They're very close, it's up to you. Vintorez has much better accuracy, Val has slightly higher fire rate and 20 mag size instead of 10. Personally I'd favor accuracy anytime of the day. All the other stats are similar. The "Special Vintorez" you can get at Nimble is vastly superior to the Val however (only the mag size difference remains).

I found a semi auto bullpup on 12.7x55 from a dead mercenary. It does more damage than my SV98 but also shoots faster than the AK12, I was so confused when I got it, but I like it.

SMGs - if you manage to find a PP-19 Vityaz, go for it. Tons of attachments, light weight, laser precision at CQC and shredding rate of fire when fully modified. Take care, Stalkers.

What even is this though. You only compare the base variants, ignore utility such as weight, reliability and attachment options, and seem to purely base judgement on the base stats and recoil in full auto. People are going to feel like clowns when they discover 5.56 rifles that can accept scopes and grenade launchers, actual decent high capacity smgs using cheap ammo, the MP153 shotgun and silencer able sniper rifles that don't weigh as much as a Beril 5 suit after seeing this list lol.

Preface by saying that almost every weapon in the game is technically viable, and that differences between top tier weapons in respective classes are often not significant enough for there to be a definite superior winner due to weapon behavior often being largely the same or same-ish, and most major differences boiling down to stuff like, mag capacity, ammo type and the weapons ability to accept scopes, silencers and grenade launchers. Here are some initial pointers before I give a list: - Damage by caliber is generally universal, meaning that all 9x18 pistols will generally do 45 damage, (almost) all russian 5.45x39 rifles will do 50 damage, and so on. - Scopes are superior for obvious accuracy reasons, on every weapon class. Its easier to hunt pixels on your screen with a scope than with your iron sights, especially in a game where human enemies will sometimes snipe you through bushes or from really far away. - Grenade launchers are preferred on assault rifles for their ability to delete problems at will, especially pseudogiants, chimeras, etc. - Silencers are always preferable when possible, but iirc, decrease damage and most stats by 10%, they help avoid noise which is good for reasons. - Weapon variants (new), (camo), (customized), (alternate) are always superior to base versions, and generally affect accuracy, rate of fire and sometimes weight, spread and rarely certain other factors, like firing modes and I think upgrade trees? - Weight is super important, especially for non-exo users (imagine unironically using SEVA suits smh) - The addon Better Item Details 1.1 helps you see some stats during play (like damage, degradation % per shot, etc) outside of the debug menu (F7 ingame) or unpacking the config archives (weapons are found under gamedata/configs/items/weapons when unpacked, can be opened with Notepad or Notepad++). - The main stats and factors you want to look at in a weapon is: ammo type, mag size, weight, ability to accept attachments and upgrade tree. - Full auto isn't a relevant thing ever anywhere ever, because ammo isn't common and cheap enough for you to spray and pray, nothing really survives a full magazine to the face anyway, and you're rewarded for conserving ammo and being accurate, so shot spread on full auto and recoil in general isn't really a thing you should care about. -- Here's the list -- 9x18 (pistol): APS - 20 mag size, 45 damage, suppressor capable, and even has a full auto mode (lol). In the 9x18 class the APS is overall the best, very high mag size, decent upgrades (but no reliability upgrades, which is bad). Its closest contender is the rechambered Glock 19 (rechambered to 9x18), since it has overall better accuracy for 3 fewer shots. 9x19 (pistol): USP Match & "March" - that have a 15 mag size and for some reason deal 56 damage despite all other 9x19 pistols dealing 46. The Match has pretty good upgrades for a pistol, its accuracy can be boosted by 40%, it can use silencers and even gets a full auto upgrade if you really want that. Strange gun that basically makes every other pistol obsolete by what is probably an accidental oversight, fuck if I know man. It's closest contender is the Glock 19, at 17 mag size, 46 damage and good accuracy. The Glock 19 has good reliability upgrades and can get a 3 round burst upgrade, it's perfectly fine and serviceable if you find one early on before a Match. .45 ACP (pistol): FN-FNP 45/FNX-45 Tactical - 55 damage, 15 mag size, suppressor capable, generally best all round in terms of upgrades. The Tactical version comes with an integrated suppressor and a red dot sight, decent if you're bad at aiming with pistol irons. They both have pretty much the same upgrade tree as the Match. It is basically the same pistol, but using more expensive ammo. 5.7x28 AP (pistol): FN Five-seveN - 46 damage, 20 mag size, NO SUPPRESSOR. This is more of an honorable mention since it sort of sticks out with its mag size and ammo type. ALLEGEDLY the ammo type is better against armor, I haven't really tested it, but the tooltip lists the ammo as being able to pierce class IIIA armor, which is better than ammo types used by other pistols. How this translates ingame I don't exactly know, but if it does what it says then it makes the pistol a pretty good option for the late game vs high end stalkers. .357 HP: Desert Eagle - 60 damage, 9 mag size, NO SUPPRESSOR. Technically not a very good weapon, its twice as heavy as the MP-412 Rex revolver (6 shots), but reloads faster. You can shear off 0.7kg via an upgrade, it has more upgrades than the Rex. Supposedly worse AP than the Five-seveN, but high tissue damage. Kind of a novelty weapon you'd wanna use out of preference or for fun when hunting mutants or going on your final run to the Wishgranter or something. It has an unique variant with a red dot sight that can get an upgrade to give it a 3 round burst (lol). 9x18 (smg): PP-19 Bizon - 46 damage, 64 mag size, suppressor + scope capable. It's weirdly light for an smg with such a ridiculous magazine capacity, it's pretty alright in full auto too tbh. Overall its an absurdly good early game weapon and one of the few that's worth buying if you see one early on. It can be rechambered into 9x19, but there is no point. 9x19 (smg): MP7 - 47 damage, 40 mag size, suppressor + scope capable. Has overall the best all round stats for smg's in its class. It's only real contender is the rechambered PP-19 Bizon, but the extra 24 shots is honestly not really worth it, you basically either stick with the MP7, the Glock 19 or the USP Match. The various MP5 variants are okay too, but they only hold 30 shots and their stats aren't as good overall. The MP7 is also lighter. .45 ACP (smg): UMP 45 - Obviously because it's the only .45 smg. 56 damage, suppressor + scope capable. You literally only use this if you hate using pistols and happen to have tons of .45 laying about. Genuinely do not recommend using this against anyone unless you have no other options or just happen to really want to. 5.7x28 AP (smg): FN P90 - 46 damage, 50 mag size, suppressor + scope capable. Honorable mention for the same reasons as the Five-seveN. Ammo is kind of hard to come by though, so I don't recommend it in general. Surprisingly controllable in the full auto mode you will never ever use. Has some really good accuracy and reliability upgrades. 12x70 (shotgun): Vepr-12 "Hammer" - 78 damage, 10 mag size, suppressor + scope capable, okay weight. Generally the best all round shotgun. Its a minor step up from the Saiga-12S, the MP-153 and Armsel Protecta. Use the Protecta if you want an extra 2 shots and don't care so much about scopes and suppressors. 12x70 (shotgun) USAS-12 - 78 damage, 20 mag size (!), NO SUPPRESSOR OR SCOPE. Heavy as fucking shit (7.10kg), but probably unironically the only weapon you would actually want to fire on full auto, like this thing would in theory straight up delete any mutant you aim at in close range. I say in theory because I've never actually found one ingame. The thing that holds it back though is just straight up its lack of attachments and its heavy weight compared to the Vepr-12, otherwise it'd be overall better. 12x70 (shotgun early game) MP-153 - 80 damage, 8 mag size, NO SUPPRESSOR OR SCOPE. Potentially the lightest and most durable shotgun, it's one major drawback is its slow reload. You load one shell at a time, but can interrupt the reload (this is still slow however). It's semi automatic though and you can get it early on from Butcher in Garbage (who also sells the cheapest shotgun ammo in the game!) to replace the shitty garbo pump actions and double barrels you'll otherwise be running around with.

@@CheekiBreekiTv We pause here in the list before moving on to rifles to talk about Russian AK's vs Western rifles. Throughout the game you'll come across an absolutely ludicrous absurd amount of AK variants. Pretty much every single one behaves virtually the same and the differences are usually really small things, like super minor accuracy or rof differences, or sliiiightly different upgrade trees, or even just the era that these soviet ass rifles are from. Pretty early on the mod teaches you this: Soviet weapons bad, modern weapon good. The only good thing all these awful rifles have going for them is cheap ammo, since due to how common the rifles are, you'll quickly be swimming in 5.45x39 ammo for your actual good russian rifles, like the ones in this next class. 5.45x39 (russian AK's): Tied between the AK-12, AEK-971 and AN-94 - They all have 50 damage, 30 mag size, are suppressor + scope + GL capable (except the AN-94 which can't use suppressors for some arbitrary reason). The AEK-971 has overall the best stats, the AK-12 can be converted to use NATO 5.45x45, and the AN-94 has an accurate 2 round burst that seems to hit dead on most of the time (which is good for headshots, and makes it probably the best russian AK of the 3 if you have plenty of ammo). They all have roughly the same weight-ish, and similar upgrade trees (with some minor differences). The AN-94 also has the fastest rate of fire out of any weapon in the game, and will empty its magazine in like, a nanosecond if you spam click the 2 round burst. Nato/western rifles are divided into: rifles that can accept grenade launchers, and rifles that can't. Because for some arbitrary nonsense reason, the Anomaly mod team decided that random weapons that have commonly been able to attach grenade launchers, scopes, silencers, etc in the past, even in vanilla stalker, suddenly can't anymore, completely at random. 5.45x45 (nato rifles): Difficult tie between the HK416 and M16A4. They are roughly the same at 49 damage, 30 mag size, suppressor + scope + GL capable, but differ in that the M16 is possibly the lightest nato rifle along with the M4A1, but that the HK416 gets the same crazy sniper accuracy level upgrade tree as the FN F2000. It's harsh, because the M16A4 already starts out with great accuracy, so it becomes more a matter of individual preference here. 5.45x45 (nato rifles): FN F2000 - 51 damage, 30 mag size, suppressor capable, integrated scope with adjustable x4 zoom upgrades, NO GRENADE LAUNCHER, fantastic upgrade tree. Prior to the Anomaly team deciding that the default vanilla FN F2000 grenade launcher variant should just cease existing, it used to be the god of western rifles. The F2000 is still excellent though, it's upgrades basically make it a sniper rifle, and the scope has some upgrades (but avoid the high contrast scope and night vision scope upgrades like the plague, they fucking suck and brick your gun). Okay alternatives if you don't like the scope are either of the two G36 rifles. The 5.45x45 category also has the SIG SG550-1 Sniper, which is an okay but awkward weapon. It has a good scope, good accuracy, but weighs 7.2kg and only holds 20 rounds, so it ends up feeling more like a poor mans F2000/416/M16. Sniper scopes are good though, better than acog's and integrated AR scopes, so this is a legit gun to run with. 7.62x51 (nato rifles): FN SCAR-H - 75 damage, 20 mag size, suppressor + scope + GL capable, very solid all round, excellent end game rifle. It's closest contender is the G3SG1, which sits in sort of the same boat as the SIG SG550-1. Good scope, but no silencer or grenade launcher. 9x35 SP-5: SR-3M Vikhr - 62 damage, 30 mag size, suppressor + scope capable, great upgrade tree. I wanna say that post upgrades, this is the best 9x35 weapon, but its tricky, because the ammo type is shared by four different weapon types. You got the SR-3M, which is like a general purpose rifle kinda like the F2000, you got the AS VAL thats this middle ground between a DMR and an assault rifle, the VSS Vintorez which is straight up a kind of unique weird light sniper rifle/marksman rifle hybrid and the OTs-14 Groza, thats just a straight up assault rifle with an integrated grenade launcher. The OTs-14 is immediately out of the game, don't waste your precious 9x35 ammo on a worse version of the FN SCAR-H. The AS VAL is really nice if you want a versatile kind of in-between rifle. The VSS Vintorez "Tide" (don't bother with the regular night vision scoped version, or the scopeless version) is great if you want a pseudo sniper rifle, without bringing a sniper rifle. Difference also lies in ammo cap, which is VSS (10), VAL (20), SR-3M/OTs-14 (30). Very preference based. Either way these are all awful at hunting mutants, and great at hunting monolith and end game stalkers. Moving on to sniper rifles, we are done with caliber classes and will now divide the remaining weapons into a more general class, since there aren't that many left in the poll. Sniper rifles are unfortunately not really viable for general play, they exist mostly for funsies and really specialized bullshit, like if you want to set up a kit to go and try and kill a base of enemies from far away and absolutely waste your own time, or have a relaxing day of mutant hunting in Truck Cemetery among other places. Sniper rifles ("light"): SVD "Lynx" - Decent good "light" (5.36kg) semi auto sniper that can run suppressors, 10 round mag. Uses common 7.62x54 7N1 sniper ammo. Not available until you get to Nimble in Skadovsk over in Zaton in the north though. A more common and much earlier alternative is the OTs-03 SVU. Also 10 round mag, comes with an integrated suppressor, but no scope. The SVU is SUPER "light" at 4kg, good if you want a hyper expensive early game dmr/sniper hybrid, weight can be slashed by 0.5kg. Sniper rifles (HEAVY): There are three snipers in this class, and only one of them is viable in general play (sort of), there is the VSSK Vykhlop, the Barret M82 and the Gauss Rifle. The Gauss Rifle is technically the best one (hitscan, no bullet drop, etc. Iirc also supposedly "silent"?), but it has no upgrades and does 50 less damage than the M82, is slightly heavier and uses harder to obtain ammo. The M82 is ludicrously heavy, but can be upgraded and does a whooping 150 damage. One of its upgrades claims it can accept a suppressor, but I've never seen one and I didn't see one in the debug spawn items menu either. This leaves you with the VSSK Vykhlop with a weight of 7.8kg and 100 damage, integrated silencer + scope, 5 mag size and bolt action. The former two you use for dicking around on your final run somewhere, the VSSK you can use for kind of whatever so long as you're mindful of your inventory weight and can tolerate lugging around such a useless heavy ass weapon with limited use. Light machine guns: These are all virtually worthless rambo weapons that behave in much the same way, the only "good" one is the M249 SAW due to its ammo type (standard 5.45x45 nato) and ability to use scopes, it can also switch between semi auto, 3 round burst and full auto, so you can technically use it as some kind of insane person general purpose heavy rifle if you really - really want to. It deals 51 damage per shot. The other lmg's are all (also) heavy as fuck, cant use scopes and are unwieldy as all hell to use. These deal 77 damage and use kind of uncommon ammo, so bringing one of these means wasting a bunch of your time lugging around a fat weapon and being super conservative with your bursts. All lmg's have a mag size of 100, and serve mostly as novelty fun weapons. Explosive weapons: There are three, the RPG-7, the M79 and RG-6. These actually have a purpose in the game, in that they are ALL exclusively mutant hunting weapons. The RPG-7 is kind of unique in that it's nifty to shoot down helicopters with if you have that setting enabled, but you have to sort of plan for it due to how heavy it and its ammo are. The M79 is legitimately viable if you run with a primary weapon that lacks a grenade launcher, weighs about 2.9kg, so its not recommended in general, but still. The RG-6 you can bring along with a shotgun or something to murder pseudogiants and chimeras. Ammo for these weapons is somewhat common-ish in proportion to what they do, and you'll generally find at least a small handful of M203 and VOG-25 grenades per large group of mercs/military/duty/freedom. Monolith sometimes spawn with RPG-7's, and they'll usually (always?) spawn several during the scripted monolith barrier attack that happens from time to time in the Army Warehouses (go to Lukash as soon as you can when he asks for help via the open channel and tell him you've come to help defend the barrier to trigger the attack itself). This concludes the list of """best weapons""". Despite these recommendations, the way the mod is built, and with how little some of the differences end up mattering, your weapon choices will often end up being based on preference (ie maybe you have a favorite gun from prior, or just like the look of one you found) and what you have available to you at the time. Best thing to do is to just play the game normally, test different weapons and see what sticks. Later on as you go along, you'll have so much money and materials that you can easily restore whatever you find or buy 100% condition weapons kind of willy nilly anyway. If you want to do more of an on-hands comparison yourself, you can open the debug menu with F7 and spawn any weapon in the game and mess around. I don't suggest doing this if you aren't already near the end of it all and have seen most of what there is to see since it can be kind of spoilery and underwhelming, but there you go. Hope this helps.

@@ManualReplica Some correction: If you want actual bang for your buck, 7.62x39mm FMJ tend to be the best one for you to take, since the only actual thing that they cant defeat within 5 shots is pretty much Exo, and at that point, you probably having a SVD with loads of looted AP rounds to spare. Also high flesh dmg to deal with Mutant (60 I think) 5.45x39mm and 5.56x45mm FMJ ( and even EP) sucks in comparison, and the only thing that is good is the AP rounds to deal with Exo, but at that point, you better off with a sniper rifle and a scope. And if that is what you want, then why the fuck not just use a sniper rifle in the first place?

Kind of a lot to ask, but after upgrades what weapons do you think are most improved after? For example, recoil is one of the biggest detriments to a seemingly amazing gun on paper as you mentioned (and I really dislike how recoil isn't listed as a stat btw) Its a difficult question to answer because in the originals lists like that were easy when a caliber only had like a dozen weapons at most, with even fewer calibers at that. Just want any recommendations. Keep up the good videos, there aren't many clear cut guides and tutorials for Anomaly, much less many other stalker mods. Thanks!

Well I can point you to my personal favorite, the AK-105. It has no upgrades to accuracy, so no cross-map headshots, but it can make do; what it has, however, is a lot of reliability, fire rate, and recoil upgrades. It's a hella reliable shooter for it's price and very, very agile.

Here's my best list For pistols, it has to be the mp 412-rex For sub-machine guns, I would have to choose the mp 412-rex For full rifles or heavy machine guns, it is pretty close, as the scar, and AUG are really good, I would have to say the mp 412-rex is right there, just above them Now, for snipers, it might be a bit controversial, I think I'm intervention is a great sniper, but 338 lapua is pretty scarce and very expensive, and for that reason, the mp 412-rex clutches this victory from right under it Luckily, shotguns don't have that much variety, so I don't have to think about it, as game breaking OP the bizon is, with being a long scoped short range weapon, I would have to say, the 6 shot capacity of the mp 412-rex definitely wins overall I hope you enjoyed my list, as I put lots of thought into which gun is the best 412-rex

When playing with the BaS mod installed, my preffered loadout is really any supressed assault rifle with a scope and canted red dot, or LAM, a suppressed KS23 boar, and usually a supressed .45 sidearm in my bag with some hydra shocks for anomaly hunting. How? Well, once I got an exo suit I just kept repairing it and never took it off

Especially when you use the magazine mod, because then you can get extended mags for it. I'd say its the best ar in the zone, but the only downside is that it is hard to full auto with.

Hey, l85 is actually pretty good in vanilla Anomaly I use it as a marksman rifle substitute, and i conserve so much ammo thanks to surprisingly comfortable SUSAT scope. Plus the gun itself is quite accurate and durable

"Moronic" is description of the weapons in this mod. AEK is NOT based on AK, its entirely different rifle unfit for army use case. Barrett uses 12.7x99, 12.7x55 is completely different ammo and VSSK is as limited weapon as WA2000, with its own problems - both were not adopted. And FNC... its an AK clone adapted for 556.

This is Anomaly 1.5.0, 7.25x25 probably didn't exist, and even then it's only used by 1 handgun and the PPSH. Nor did the 7.92, and also even then, was used by only the Kar98K. As for the .357, only the MP REX used that ammo at the time. Currently the Desert Eagle and MP REX really come down to, 'do you like break action revolver that are deathly unique and actually rare' Or 'Iconic block gun used in action shows to show dominance and powers' but statistically I would say the desert eagle is better for the ammo capacity it has being 9 shots instead of 6, and I believe it has better accuracy then the REX. But again, they are handguns so it isn't really made to be used at range to accuracy would matter a ton unless your doing a pistols/sidearms only game. 7.25x25 is only used by that TT-33 handgun? Don't quote me on that, I believe that is the handgun used. As well as the PPSH. Plus, the caliber kinda sucks and it's just a more rare 9x18 then anything else. I mean, the PPSH is kinda good since it literally pelts them full of bullets at a decent recoil. And the TT-33 is just unique so there is that factor. 7.92 only came as a recent edition when they added the Kar98K and I think that one integrated scope SVT? Rifle you can find from mister Sidorovich. (Could be 7.62x54 actually, I have no clue haven't touched it in a good bit.) If I were to recommend guns, I personally to rush Kar98K with a bandit start and get that British ammo for it (The ap ammo, forgot the name) and rush Monolith asap to steal probably an M16A4 or something. Work up and get an AK-12, FN FAL or that semi auto 5.56 SSG semi-rifle since it slaps actually pretty hard. Usually I don't worry about getting any new gun since hardly any enemies use armor above level III anyways. And even if they do, just popped their head and they'll die. Of course you can always get hounded by literally everyone except Mercs and Freedom as a bandit.

@@m.k.3151 I actually prefer the MP Rex. It's a fraction of the weight and it has better handling. I find the Desert Eagle to be horrible to aim with because it takes up about half your screen. Also the recoil on the Rex isn't as bad, and I think it has a faster fire rate? Your analysis is certainly valid, it just that the Eagle felt really awkward to me.

@@BlackSabbath628 The MP-Rex is cool, don't get me wrong. And the Desert Eagle was only a 'plate breaker' handgun idea at the time made. Originally was suppose to be made in America, but a company passed it on into Mexico. But then later IMI adopted it, if I am not mistaken at least. But I prefer the Desert Eagle anyways because high mag size and that SLIGHT bit of more accuracy. And fire rate on such high recoil handguns (I use enhanced recoil because I am a masochist) go places where you don't want it. Oh, and as for the aiming with a Desert Eagle? I... Have no clue how I even aim with half the guns in the game using their irons. Stuff like the AKs, and M4/M16 series guns are easy. But then the Desert Eagle and AN-94 and such I also do good with, mostly. So, personal opinion I like the desert eagle for the 9 shot mag size. Oh, fun history of the MP-Rex. It's a very rare breed revolver originally made for Russian soldiers, I think spetsnaz? Could be any soldier. BUT, since it's a break action, complex, and realistically not the most 'Beatable' guns out there. They cancelled the idea, and production went to a slug pace or a stand still. Which to think about it, kinda badass story for a small little gun. Not as cool as things like the FAL and AKM though. Those 2 being the Left and Right hands to a free world.

There are a lot of things you don't consider in this ranking, when you really should. Ignoring price and rarity is fine. But armor penetration? Available attatchments? Upgrades? Sometimes you don't want a high fire rate, what if you have high recoil or rare ammo drop settings? The FN-FNC can't equip any scopes or sights. The UMP becomes absolute trash if your enemy has any armor. .45 acp has probably the worst armor pen in the game when not using AP ammo The sv98 is bolt action while the svd is semi-auto and can do a decent impersonation of a battle rifle when fully upgraded. Same thing with the l96 vs wa2000. If fire-rate is something you want in a 5.45 rifle, the an-94 beats the aek any day. Turning it to burst mode turns its fire rate up to 1800rpm, double the aek971s, with a tiny amount of recoil. No mention of semi-auto shotguns? The mp153 beats the fort500 in every way. And the saiga is even better than that. The fort-17 can't be full-auto, you may want an ots-pernach if you need a pocket smg. Same with the glock, you should consider if you can upgrade the pistol to full-auto. For the people watching, there really isn't so much difference between weapons of the same caliber that you are worse off for using one that you just think is cool. Fashion over stats for weapons in this game.

nope. pretty sure Damage is listed per pellet, and Slugs and Darts absolutely hit like trucks.

"Lynx" a little upgraded custom SVDm-2 from Nimble is powerful and light (compared with other similar snipers) sniper, its 5X upgrade zoom is bigger than 6X zoom on other sniper riffles. Remington 700 is great cheap sniper. SV-98 is another alternative to Lyn
