7 Cool Tips for Rookie Stalkers (STALKER Anomaly Mod)

Quick tip #1: You can sell a looted PDA for about 1000. However, you can also deconstruct it for an absolute ton of electronic parts. Those parts can be used to craft many expensive items, notably artefact containers and night vision. Since the best artefact containers cost over 20,000 ru, you save more money deconstructing PDAs than you do selling them. Quick tip #2: Get any scoped rifle, and use it to engage non-mutant enemies at range. You don't even need good armor if you can keep the enemy at range. Stand behind cover. Lean out and take one shot. Go back behind cover. Don't get tempted to stay out for another shot - that is how you die. Also, run to different cover. Don't stay in one place - that is how you die. Also, sniper bullets look expensive, but you only need 1 to kill someone. Quick tip #3: Get any shotgun asap and use it on mutants and very close range enemies. Most mutants do not turn quickly, so get used to moving to the side to avoid their charge. They also get confused by obstacles like trees and boxes. You can take on a chimera, one of the toughest enemies, simply by keeping a tree between yourself and it.

also take armor piercing rounds for snipers because its nice to make sure someone will die to 1 shot.

My first encounter with a chimera was so sudden and gave me a jumpscare and a half. I'd just started my first time play of Anomaly (also completly new to Stalker) and had chosen Ironman/Azazel settings. Within 10 seconds of my first life I walked into an anomaly and insta died, moments later I assumed the role of a soldier in a group who were under attack and already shooting when I spawned. I had barely equipped my helmet when something huge jumped past my vision.. Naturally, I moved round to get a sight in it and aimed down the sights.. It pounced and killed me instantly before I could get two shots off lol. Fell in love with the game instantly

or those barb wire fences you can low crouch (crouch +alt button) i was able to kill two chimeras and two lurkers that way in the Truck Cemetery, i was crying the whole time though.

So a cool trick/glitch I learned is that during my loner play through, I discovered if you get the ecologists to like you, you can buy the red blue and yellow med bags, and resell them for more than they costed you by about 100000 roubles, hope this helps with the money grind!

jokes on you, i started a new playthrough today and wandered off to limansk with only a leather jacket and the double barrel sawn off, i killed a few mercs there, got a saiga and even managed to kill a monolith guy wearing an exo skeleton, wich i stole and repaired. Now I still use the saiga alongside the bullpup sniper rifle which that guy used, and i'm wearing his exo :D Edit: it was a nosorog exoskeleton model

Do we know how accurate is the bullet's description is in the game? I mean armor pen and tissue dmg. For example -7.62x39's bullet types are all labeled armor pen 3, tissue dmg high even the specific ap ammo. If i choose by this i just go with fmj (price) then why the ap ammo exist... -7.62x54 n14 vs ap are both labeled armor pen 4, tissue dmg high, but the prices are really different. In this case only the base n1 and ap worth it. idk. thx in advance

I can't find any basic tools in the game but I have already put lots of hours into it. I found lots of hidden stash but none of them contain this item. I always find advance tools so I can't upgrade. Is it maybe a bug? If anyone have suggestion, I am listening 😃

I know this post is old and may be you already found the Basic Tools or rage quit by now but if you didn't, here is the tip. Once you spawn in Rookie Village in Cordon as a Loner, just get to the main road. One your left will be the road leading to the broken railway bridge to Farms, on your right will be the road leading to Army checkpoint, if you choose to go straight instead and just take a few steps (from the Road into Grassland), there should be a make shift tent with a Stash in it, there you will find Basic Tools. Additionally, if you go to Agroprom from Garbage while you are near Trader Hunter, take road on left of Railway Tunnel leading to Agroprom, just enter the Agroprom area and take a right, go over the Railway Tunnel (keep hugging the right most boundary with barbed wire) and keep going around the map, you will come across Stalker Grave, and then a few paces later a backpack and even a dead stalker and a hollow tree stump. They all are likely to contain Basic Tools kit. I found 2 of those there.

Yes but everything you loot off bodies will be basically broken or have 10-15% left which means it will cost more than the suit to fix and provide no protection value until it is.
