I just started playing Anomaly a few days ago after hearing people talk about Stalker for years. Perfect timing finding your videos. They have been super useful in teaching me how to survive in the Zone!

Started playing Stalker: Anomaly about a couple days ago. To say the least...where was this hidden gem all along? Went to explore some tunnel with next to no items...next thing I know, boxes started to float around me and literally SMASH right into me. Paused, gathered myself and ran like the goddamn wind.

Yep, Anomaly is my FIRST Stalker that I played. Everything that happens to me is extremely new and exciting. Love learning games like this from no prior experience.

Another little bit of advice is to get a shotgun as soon as possible. but don't get the one that's in the starting character sheet. instead, take one of the full auto weapons from it, and then go bully some bandits for their shotguns. you'll typically get a double barrel. and regardless of its condition it will still never jam with how frequently you reload it. if you manage to find a pump action however, then you'll be all set for the rest of the game until you find a magazine fed shotgun like the Saiga 12 or a breach loading semi-auto like the Spas 12. Shotguns are great for hunting mutants and have a surprisingly long range. you could one shot a Flesh mutant from about 30 meters away with any 12 gauge shotgun. 12 gauge ammo is also very cheap. on the easiest Progression Difficulty, buckshot will only cost about 470 Rubles from Butcher. and 580 from anyone else. With how much range you have, you won't need Dart Shells or Slugs because you already have a weapon that can surpass their effective range, but they're still good on their own terms. repairing the early game shotguns is also relatively cheap, with the most expensive early game shotgun costing 18k rubles for the average repair job.

Great video, I'm really tempted to boot this up. One question, is companion NPC behavior stable? I have had so much fun with the Call of -Prypiatt- Chernobyl overhaul mod, but pretty much every run I would at some point have an NPC escort quest where the NPCs would refuse to follow me through a loading zone, meaning I can't get them where they need to go to finish the quest. I've probably quit three 20+ hour runs in CoP because I couldn't finish a faction's missions due to this.

Your guides that you've made for the game that I have gone through so far (installing, part 1, and now currently part 2) are amazing. However if I may ask a question from your part 1 of this guide, I'd like to know how you got the animations for using drinks, med kits, etc. for me my character just stands in place for a moment and then I'm back, it'd be nice for me to see what I'm doing while i can't move or something. thank you again for the helpful videos, and thank you (or anyone else) for answering my question if that happens. good luck is The Zone everyone!

@@rrg4939 one of my playthroughs was cursed. Cleared cordon, swamps, garbage, rostok, half Yantar (rushing for berill before getting psy helm) and got ZERO basic and advanced tools, fml

Is it possible to make the shortcut itens (F1, F2, F3 and F4) to show in the hud? Holy sh*t man! I aready have played dozens of hours of this mod and many things you said here, I didn't know about. Unloading all guns at once, stacking same itens to reduce weight.... so many good info. Great work!

Interesting guide. I've seen people recommending quality of life mods, such as mods that remove the need for recipes, and mods that remove the need to use a technician for repairs and upgrades. But based on these videos, the vanilla Anomaly gameplay looks like fun. Are there any recommended mods or are all the mods just making the game easier or harder, but without really improving it?

Bro try making a spoiler free guide. I didnt need to know which npc has unique weapons or best prices, just needed to figure out what NPCs do in general.

How can you zoom in like you did 3:08 to use PDA to properly. There is this key "P" that will make your character to put PDA in front of the screen, but only in bottom area, zoomed out, I ques it is only to see map and use it to walk in a desired direction, but how can I really do stuff in PDA. Which key will zoom it? I looked for it in setting menu, but there is nothing.
