People tend to forget when Clear Sky launched it also had " brand new " direct x 10 support and it was at the time when Vista launched and DX10 was exclusive to vista.

Great video, so much editing and good humor, this thing needs more views, I enjoyed watching! I finished the game and I had fun in it despite its shortcomings. I entered Limansk not knowing it was a point of no return type situation so I died a lot but that's what quicksave is for and eventually I beat the game and yes the ending was not good but it is what it is. I wanted to see what other reviewers will say of this title and you did a good job of showing the good and the bad stuff but ultimately recommending it and showing that it is fun. Nice job!

Weeeeeell, I'd say: Go play Anomaly. It is a great mod, that... NO! NO! Anomaly is all that Stalker could have been, but with pain cranked up to 11. It has everything. Great mutants, anomalies, intricate crafting system, guns that can finally shoot straight... If you can get working gun, that is. Or if an unseen bandit does not shoot you in the head through high grass in Swamps. Or if you wont get ambushed by Lurkers. Or Controllers. Oh god, I hate the bloody Controllers..... Stalker Anomaly is THE greatest game that I would NEVER recommend to anybody to play.

Playing with the arsenal overhaul mod for my first playthrough and it's such a different experience to SoC Tons of people said to skip CS altogether, but someone told me to play with ABR and I found it a bit too far of a departure from SoC

I think that the flakk Clear Sky got was MOSTLY thanks to the horrid bugs on launch. Mostly... There was a gamebreaking bug where you're supposed to go through some kind of portal, and the portal... WASN'T THERE. Other than that, i'd say that Clear Sky had one of the strongest openings of the Stalker games. I love/hated the swamp and the fact that when you finally get to Cordon for the first time, you immediately get sniped by a military patrol. But i never finished it thanks to the bug. I guess they prolly fixed it at some point, but then other stuff got released and when i decided to go back to Stalker, the third game was already out by then... So i left Clear Sky unfinished.

The only thing the Stalker games have going is the atmosphere. But unfortunately it's not enough to overlook the repetitive gameplay, really bad gunplay and lackluster story. Not to mention the technical state in which it was released. Thank God for the community and myriad of mods that solve big chunk of Stalker problems making it somewhat enjoyable nowadays. And it's really funny how GSC Gameworld nowadays try to eradicate everything Russian while making a sequel for a game based on a novel by russian writers.
