Back then youtube was a great place. No ads, no sponsors, just people and their videos. Watching gaming was extremely exciting, especially watching people play games that you can’t play due to not having a good pc and stuff.

A little but quite useful tip for the young and new stalkers out there: you can repair your suits but you have to have 4 or more Flame battery artifacts equipped. The thermal protection must exceed 100% After you get them, just step into a bonfire or flaming barrel and watch how your suit "regenerates" after couple of seconds. Good hunting, stalkers!

My advice :Yeah, but Electro battery is early and easy to get 4 pieces of it! Do the same job on elecctro anomaly. Mid-end game, Burn battery is must have, because fires is everywhere! "Chiki-briki"!

All these years (17 to be precise) and I never even thought to try moving that guard with a box! 1:57 Stormtrooper aim. 2:59 Straight to Army Warehouses. I use a similar technique in older versions of the Oblivion Lost mod (either OL2.2 or OL2010). You can pay the Duty warrant officer at the Garbage checkpoint. The toll is cheap. Or he'll let you pass by if you're already friends with Duty. In that mod (probably depends on version), you can have Sid make you a member of any faction right from the start. I usually have him make me an ecologist which makes me friends with both Freedom and Duty. 6:26 I've often wondered what S.T.A.L.K.E.R. would be like with Half-Life 2-style environmental interaction. 7:15 In Oblivion Lost, I'd always go with one of those Guardian of Freedom armors. I'd sell the rest of the Freedom armors to Skinflint, along with all the LR-300s and SG550s I found in the area. In that mod, my favorite five-five-sixers were the Bofors Ak.5 and the Galil AR. In Oblivion Lost 2010, Skinflint pays a resale premium for Freedom armor and NATO weapons, especially German or Swiss ones. He especially likes G36s. Barkeep pays a resale premium for stalker suits, and there's one of those lying around in the bloodsucker-infested desolated village. Note: In 'nilla ShoC for PC, all traders pay the same prices for all goods if I recall. Not sure if that's true for console versions.

I've played this game since I am 8 years old, I'm currently 23, STALKER is the game I go back to yearly, and I had ZERO idea you could jump the gate in Garbage to the Bar and that you could move the Freedom guard WITH A BOX. Great video, man! Loved it.

The game's secret final boss is... push the box up the stairs! I couldn't get it up the stairs but I found another box on the same floor as the guard. I was able to use that box to push the guard back. Thanks for your guide. I was trying to play the game without a guide but it's a bit punishing on your first playthrough!

This would've been really helpful a week ago. Good game, aside from the part where walking down the road after turning off the brain scorcher was guaranteed to crash my xbox so hard it'd do a full reset. My only tip would be to always buy a ton of ammo for your preferred gun, as it's the one thing you always need and aren't guaranteed to get from enemies you kill while playing.

This is Vintar. VLA is a different weapon without optic. VLA with optic is only gived to you from General Voronin for side quest!

Hi, Stalkers! My early game best weapon is special Thunder(Groza) 5.45x39(ammo from Kalashnikov) and you can buy it from Sidorovich after start for 20000 RU. Some tip:Entering the garbage go NW where is car park and Bess call for help. When enter the park, at the right side have a tower. From the ground shoot some boxes at top of the tower and that give you about 1000 9x19 AP rounds! My best weapons depending of the region are:Vintar, GP 37, Groza(special) and Threaded SPSA-14! GOOD HUNTING!!!

Apparently you can Save nimble, give flashcard to Sidorovich , and as long as you dont talk to wolf after saving nimble (all these 3 characters are eary game ones) Sidorovich will sell and continue to sell copies of the unique Groza "Tunder" which uses the easier to find 5 .45x ammo...

I mean at this point you might as well speedrun the game. Just make a beeline through the red forest towards the power plant, if you rush fast enough you can get past the monolith and the PSI-emission at the end without taking any damage, and there's no PSI nonsense at the power plant.

the merc base inside the army warehouses has a “sniper trs” which comes with a scope & a silencer that doesn’t affect bullet drop like attaching a silencer to a normal one does & you can attach a grenade launcher to it. iirc its the most accurate gun in the game. theres only like 5 or so mercs inside the base so its not hard to get it. the only drawbacks with that gun is a low rate of fire & it starts jamming at around 70% durability but that takes a long time to get to. that gun carried me through the majority of the game past rostok until i could reliably find ammo for the vintar. previously i had to go all the way to yantar to buy ammo bc i couldnt find the duty trader that sells it. i thought my game was bugged until i found his ass laid out in the middle of the street outside of the duty base idk why he was even outside. but once you get to the red forest you can loot the ammo off some monolith & dead duty soldiers & its always available from there till the end of the game

In the release version 1.0001 it used to be normal stalker "sunrise" suit in 1.0002 or 3 they patched it to merc suit as Sunrise suit was too OP that early game

Best gun is Vintar, you can get it for free, it hardly gets damaged, ammo becomes plenty in late game, and even with non-AP 9x39mm it can down an exo with 2 shots, of course its flatness is not that good so you have to compensate by aiming higher. But the weapon is cheap to use, and a carries you through out the whole end game without disappointing.

at the outpost that goes from cordon to garbage if you go on the tower and jump over to the fence (kinda tricky) keep following the fence until you can jump on the building and in the small room on the roof you can grab a pistol

Theres a PB pistol near nimble in the little metal container and at the check point in the cordon all the way north where the bandits are if you get on top of the building on the left side there's a walther pistol

If you guys loved the trilogy here are some mods that in my opinion captured the mysterious feeling of the trilogy: Made by Jekan: Return to the Zone(3 story campaigns and a story extraction mode), Goldensphere OGSR(based on Roadside Picnic), OGSR Legacy(pretty much a remake of ShoC with lots of cut content and user made content). Team V.I.V.E.N.T.: Incubator, Dreamcatcher(sequel to Incubator). They have more great mods but they still are hard to understand Machine translations. zaurus' crew: Apocalipsis Trilogy OGSR, Fallen star(also called "Der gefallene Stern" sequel to A-Trilogy), Last STALKER(sequel to Fallen Star) Creators/teams I forgot the name of: True Stalker(if you don't mind cutscene glassjaw), Dollchan infinity, Road to the north(story/free play hybrid, main story starts at Skadovsk), Path in the Mist, Wind of Time(it starts with timetravel from the year 2114 back to 2014 and has some big twists)

Question! I'm sorta new to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, I played Call of Pripyat on PC back in 2011 but never got very far in the game. With that said, I recently bought the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy on console and I'm about to start playing Shadows of Chernobyl first. My question is, after I gather all of the good early game gear, do I have to travel back to starting area? I apologize for the noob question, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is still a brand new series to me even though the games have been out for many years. A friend of mine had S.T.A.L.K.E.R Call of Pripyat on PC back in the day and that's how I played the game, but outside of that I don't know much about this series other than it looks awesome and I really want to start getting into these games...cheers! :-)

Don't jump the fence, knife the gate while looking left and it'll budge keep doing so until it opens for you enough to slip in. No need to parkour

I prefer to open the gate by pushing, this way you can kill Duty without becoming hostile to entire faction, only ones who saw you walking past gate :) Also you should be able to crouch jump over the freedomer protecting armory, but I never played on console

early game =/= before first mission you've gone to one of the locations from the end game, you might as well go to cnpp for exo and then return to do the story missions

Also Best gun has to be the FT-2000M only real shame about it is that its strictly an endgame weapon with no special varieties you can find like all the other weapons in the game. (WHY STALKER DEVS!!!) But other than that, its my favorite gun and the best gun in the zone.

You can slightly cheat, go to bar early in game, play arena. One of the enemy has it. Kill him. Then his weapon gets dropped in the battle section of the arena. You can teleport using actor demo record and go grab the gun.

Also if you head to the Mercenary outpost/checkpoint in the northeast of Military Warehouses, you can find the Sniper TRs-301, a unique silenced and scoped variant of the TRs-301 in the bus stop there. The Mercenaries don't spawn this early in the game so there's nobody there. You can also skip meeting Kruglov in Wild Territory and get the non-adjusted Psy helmet early. I made a video showing how to do it. I recently finished the game without ever talking to Wolf (meaning I never got the knife) or rescuing Nimble. Have fun, stalkers. Edit : you can return to the Garbage from the Bar by shooting the gate at the Duty Checkpoint. You must *not* draw the attention of the three guards at the door - if *they* see you on the other side, they will aggro, but only them. The rest don't care.

What a terrible concept. The most fun part of the game is having guns that armt full durability, might jam by the end of the mission. Low meds, low food, low ammo, bad armor, having to dodge enemies and take your fights super carefully. This ruins the fun

Honestly, the gunplay is fire, a perfect gun in the zone is definitely trash from the outside world. You just can't full auto everything, you gotta single shot or burst, and don't waste the bullet when the enemy flinches, as they get massive damage reduction in that animation.
