Stalling 2007 Buick Lucerne Electric Throttle (all makes)

This video addresses a very common problem with any vehicle that has an electric throttle and will start, but stalls almost immediately, forcing the driver to hold the gas pedal down to get the engine to start.

Thanks man you really helped me i had this issue where i had to hit the gas when starting or it would die out i did what you said cleaning out the throttle body there was black stuff all in there once cleaned i put back together and it starts perfect every time thanks again for the video👍

What tool do you need to get the last piece of to access the throttle plate? I was able to disconnect the air filter and the fuse connection but I can't get that black cover piece off and am unsure of what tool to use

Are there any codes? Sounds like an IAC (idle air control) issue but it could be many other problems.

@@WrenchSense I was told today by my mechanic that it’s my fuel pump sensor code P0452

@@tomaswayne796 Any of the P0400 codes are EVAP codes. Your particular code, P0452 indicates an electrical problem with the EVAP pressure sensor. It indicates either an electrical wiring issue or a faulty EVAP sensor. Just for your info, the EVAP system has been deleted on most vehicles since yours was built. The original idea was a fuel conservation measure aimed at eliminating the possibility of fuel evaporating from your gas tank while sitting by monitoring vacuum pressure levels in your fuel tank. This is why you hear a hiss or otherwise when you remove your gas cap. This system has been all but abandoned by most manufacturers fairly recently. Thusly, P0400 codes are really nothing to be concerned about.

I had to change out my ignition control module when that happened to me. I could barely make it up a hill. Next day it ran super rough when I started it, was only firing 1 cyl.
