@@SPECTR_Eternal That actually somewhat makes sense. With all the mentions of the orokin turning inorganic things into organic things (the sentient and arguably the weeping posts and golden seeds) I wouldn't be surprised if they somehow managed to give the orb vallis a heart. It seems somewhat far-fetched but not entirely outside the realm of possibility.

Constructing buildings like we do currently is quite hard and labor-intensive. Considering that Orokin seemingly mastered gene manipulation, it's not that much of a stretch to imagine that at some point they have simply started growing buildings instead of constructing them using conventional means (probably both methods were used, depending on the circumstances). You design the seed, plant it, then just drop required nutrients and materials on top of it as it grows (most of which will probably already be in the soil, and sunlight can provide energy, if available... there's also geothermal and other possible energy sources).

In the history of the Earth, it is often the accepted theory that fungi were the lifeform capable of creating soils due to their capability to decompose rocks with their enzymes and able to draw energy from the environment without the need for photosynthesis. In the modern day, they also live by an almost symbiotic relationship with plant roots forming Hyphae (not 100% sure I got the spelling right) where they sort of feed eachother's biproducts. Could the fungi seen in the Vallis be a part of the terraforming process rather than a side effect of it?
@The_Vent_Goblin5 жыл бұрын
You spelled it right dont worry
@xXx_Regulus_xXx Жыл бұрын
you're exactly right, many fungi become so tightly bonded to plant roots that they actually extend their mycelium into the plant cells for more efficient nutrient exchange. the fungus can pull in minerals and other nutrients from a much wider range than the plant roots can alone, and in exchange the plant gives the fungus its excess sugars. the same fungal network can connect to different plants in the same area and exchange nutrients between them, and will even carry chemical signals from plant to plant.

When I started playing Warframe, I immediately noticed the game has a very organic theme. By that I mean everything has either organic shapes, or is organic-like in nature. Titanfall has a mechanical theme. Sharp, pointed, and angular. You look at the technology and think; Machine. Warframe is organic in theme. Soft, curved, and flowing. You look at things and think; Flesh. Even the Corpus machines use an organic texture. The Orbiter is biological in components. Warframes are (spoilers) organic in nature. The Orokin probably grew cities like we grow forests. The Sentients are a blend of machine and organic-like composition. We Tenno even fight with some weapons made of flesh-like material! Pox, Hema, Lesion, Mire, etc!

It's becoming really quite clear the technological branches the Orokin favored (Bio-mechanics of some kind), but that then brings up the issue of the Sentients. The Sentients main threat towards the Orokin was that they adapted to Orokin Tech and then subverted it, forcing the Orokin to rely on less advanced tech. The implication being that the Orokin utilized a metal/energy/wiring (basically robotic Star Wars) type of technology, becoming proficient in more organic mechanical technology only when the Sentients began to subvert their robots. However, as more Orokin civilization is revealed, it kinda shows that the Orokin have always been big on organic-mechanical type of technology. So my question is, what exactly did the Sentients subvert if the Orokin have always been using organic-tech? The tower on the Plains is clearly immune to Sentient subversion (as the Sentient had to wage an active war against it) and is a living structure, and the structures on the Orb Vallis show a heavy bias for organic-tech when terraforming. So what tech was that that the Sentients corrupted?
@theexurian10795 жыл бұрын
bioniclefan1995 it might be that traditional technologies were in use only during the beginnings of the Great War, and that it was developed over centuries or millennia, saying as we do not have a time scale.
@freeze_peach5 жыл бұрын
The best way to interpret older organic Orokin tech would be akin to a plant, that grows and fixes itself when damaged, but has also a self-trimming nature to make so it is not to grow endlessly and be capable self-maintenance. The Sentient(from their name itself) have sentience, and have the ability to bestow such to other mechanic or organic matter. There is no "sentience" or mind in old Orokin tech which makes the Sentients capable of manipulating them. Now in comes the Warframe with not only 1 form of sentience, but two; one from the Tenno that controls it, and the Infested dwelling within the Warframe itself. Sentients may only be able to manipulate organic or mechanic matter that has no mind or any shred of sentience.
@jadekaiser78405 жыл бұрын
@@freeze_peach Actually, I think it would be the other way around. Based on the way that Hunhow was able to subvert Cephalon Suda, and the wording of Ballas as he describes the sentients' subversion in the Sacrifice ("Our weapons were their kin"), it seems likely that it was "dumb" weaponry that they were forced to revert to, where before they used proxies and pseudo-organic robotics. If so, some of the more traditional Corpus tech and weapons may actually be advanced in ways that the Orokin never explored in as much depth, given that all the weapons they developed from that are more physical-projectile based. AFAIK, there isn't a single primed energy weapon in the game. Unless you count the Silva and Aegis Prime, and a blade of fire is kind of different from the plasma weapons and stuff that the Corpus has.
@Tevatron0445 жыл бұрын
Could be that sentients and their tech were the orokin's original weapons, and they had to revert to digital tech and make enhanced versions like all the primed weapons (which were probably just normal weapons, beefed up with orokin tech). This probably wasn't enough, so we had to resort to using the poison to tge sentients, which is us, the Tenno
@skylark3065 жыл бұрын
The sentient mothership that landed on the plains of eidolon was said to be late to the party and the tenno had already destroyed the orokin and scattered, thus leaving only Gara (and followers of the unum) to defend the tower. Its likely that the advanced technology assimilated by the sentients during the old war died with them, or it might be refering to the advanced energy weapons used by the teralysts and vomalysts. Its also likely that the single greater sentient at plains of the eidolon does not possess the collective intelligence that allowed the sentients to subvert orokin technology during the old war (they all died, evidently)

Wow. I never realized how in depth the Orb Vallis really was until now. Before it was my favorite open world, but now it's especially my favorite. I honestly thought Venus was cold though because the Orokin had their cooling towers active, slowly cooling it down. Then once it got too cool, they would turn them off and let it get to that sweet spot (whatever that temperature was). But because the Empire was destroyed, the coolant machines were never turned off, leading to it's current frozen landscape.

Nice video, (as usual) only real detractor for me is I haven't found any clear indicator the orbital mirrors are the same as the orb's shield satellites, I mean a planet can have more than one or one kind of satellite, from what I remember of the dialog in the profit taker missions the concern isn't that destroying or making the shield satellite inoperable would make the vallis uninhabitable it's that it would be detected by Nef and they'd switch to a backup quickly and the plan would be revealed. Also if the orbital mirrors provided the shield it would seem to me you could attack the orbs during the cold period, since the orbital mirrors aren't geostationary. I imagine the shielding satellite would have to be, or there needs to be enough to hand off without a gap in coverage. I might have missed something though, if I have I'd appreciate being corrected.

I'd assume the coolant is some sort of liquid gas, given the orokin's technological prowess at this point- possibly liquid oxygen. we currently can only create small amounts of it using the intense cold of liquid Helium and other gasses, but it is a strong candidate for the purpose of terraforming. Cooling Venus aswell as slowly generating or improving an atmosphere as it evaporates back to it's gaseous state, this process presumably slowed exponentially with orokin tech.
