Oh, I ADORED "Sliders". It was one of the shows me and my Brother (he passed away in 2011 at 34) in the 90s. We watched all the now classics. "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine", "Star Trek: Voyager", "Highlander the series", "Friends" and so many more. I HAVE SO MANY precious memories. "Sliders" as a concept, was fantastic. But, of course, being Fox they had (maybe still?) a habit of putting ratings over quality? Although, you could apply that to most networks and companies? In fact, one of my prized items, is the 2 part "Sliders" comic Jerry wrote. And, they did a TV version as "Just say YES". Science Fiction is, and always has been, a great way, of commenting on real life issues OR the possibilities of the future that WILL happen. Science fiction is the realm of what is to be. NOT what can never happen. The original cast were amazing. So, to hear there was a lot of negatives for them to make the show, is very sad. I hope all of them have learned and moved on from the downsides to have happy memories. Like they gave me when I was a teenager. Feels so long ago now, and YET, still part of me all these years later. Peace and love to everyone here, David

I had an idea to revive this show like a decade ago, when it might have worked. It would have picked up where the series left off, Remmy going through the portal "Home". We'd see a few flashed of that event, and flash to the current day, it's Rembrandt, he's in a mind manipulation chamber, he's older, and disheveled. He's seemingly been there a long time. The Cromags from their first encounter can be scene in blurred images of his vision. Basically, they never got away from the original Cromags, they've been running him through fake scenarios to learn everything they can about him and how he functions. Would have erased a ton of missteps, and could have been him trying to find out what happened to the others.

Seasons 1, 2 were superior to 3, 4 and 5. I think the firing of John Rhys-Davies killed the show. I loved Sabrina Lloyd as Wade. Seasons one and two are the best with a more philosophical writing approach and great characters with nice development and chemistry. However, once Fox decided season three had to be dumbed down and have more sex appeal, the show went majorly downhill. This led to losing both Arturo and Wade as a consequence, which was practically fatal. I will give Sci-Fi Channel credit at the time for doing their best to fix the mess with the new storyline with the brother in season four. It wasn’t great, but sort of got it back on its feel until they literally lost Quinn, the main character, and his brother, so the story was destroyed again. Impossible to fix, season five might have been alright had it been its own show, but as another season of Sliders it was dead on arrival and leaves us with an awkward end that was unimaginable at the beginning of the show. Fox wasted and destroyed what could have continued to be a great series in the hopes “the masses” would watch and get aroused over Wuhrer’s ass-ets while enduring lame action-oriented stories.

I thought the 1st 2 seasons were the best episodes. Once the cromags arrived, it got lazy.

As usual, this was a great summary/analysis. Would you be able to do the same for another great series that also started strong but ended weak IMHO: 'Travelers'?

Man i was like 9 or 10 when this was on. I was too young to know about actor drama stuff. I was waiting so long for Wade and the professor to be brought back some how. but they never came. That feels cruel to a kid lol.

Every good sci-fi series needs exactly 1 serious actor, no more, no less.

Never really got into this show. I do remember though thinking how adult and manly Jerry O'Connell filled out compared to say his stand by me roll.
