If you're having trouble seeing all the mean burst combos Grim's pulling off; adjust the playback speed to 0.5, it really helps me to break everything down.

Hey man! Got inspired by your latest videos to actually give Stamblade another go in PvP after many years. Since I had tons of gold lying around, I managed to get all the gear together quite easily. After around 3 days of trying out the build in open world PvP, I also came to the conclusion which you have already mentioned; Stamblade is simply a former shadow of itself. My last PvP experience was during 2016, where Stamblade was at its peak. While I understand that it definitely needed some tuning down, I believe they have overdone it with all the nerfs. The truth is you cannot really pressure people anymore like you used to. Healing and tankiness are literally so over the top, that the only way to kill someone who knows what they are doing is to catch them a bit of guard and two-shot them. Without a fully charged Incap, you really cannot do shit. While it feels quite awesome when you manage to pull these crazy combos, it is nearly Impossible to pull them off against experienced players. What I feel like Stamblade needs at the moment is either some sort of DoT damage or increased burst. Or perhaps even better proper adjustments to this disgusting tank meta. Anyways, really great work overall, looking forward to more!

@@euricoguidetti4605 I'll always re-apply venom arrow at that point and then usually go back to executing without a bar swap cancel if they're proven to be super tanky. Instead I'll go for the bash cancel and possibly even proc a nice repost (my repost - a CP passive - has a 12k tooltip). It's basically another surprise attack. Bashing is slower and takes more stem, but it does more damage. So just feel out what you need in the situation.

Any tips on damage combos with high ping? I'm in Oz and can't get much below 300ms ping in Cyrodiil. Short-range abilities like Incap usually take about 2-3 attempts before they actually hit, and 5m abilities like Surprise Attack are completely unusable - they don't even fire off reliably against AFK/stunned targets. I've taken to going bow/bow stamblade and using Imbue Weapon > light attack > Silver Shards as my burst combo, since they're ranged and the server doesn't keep resetting them a few frames in due to my target going out-of-range before my attack message reaches the server.

Crunchy Chips actually that’s a main reason Aussies tend to shy away from stamblade. Unfortunately there isn’t too much that can be done. Usually other classes like Stam DK and Stamcro can pick up the Aussies because they are much tankier and more forgiving. I’m sure I could come up with a build specifically for lower ping. That’s a good idea.

@@Grimhallow Yeah, I've got a stamDK and stamcro. StamDK applies that sweet range buff to all 5m abilities, and stamcro is like stamden if subassault worked properly. I play them all more like brawler builds, which is fine until you encounter someone like @animationcancelling with infinite sustain, at which point fights can stretch out for 10 minutes with no winner.

Firstly great content, please keep going with similar stuff. I wanted to ask is there an addon or technique that i can use to help with target management in PVP. In battlegrounds i struggle to quickly and effectively single out the target i want and keep on them, especially when using a bow and ranged attacks. A video on how to target in PVP would be awesome as i'm sure that a lot of people struggle to adapt to the targeting system in this game. Thanks again.

Christian T Stam DK for sure, because landing a leap CC basically guarantees I’m going to get hit a second time. Mag DKs are threatening for the same reason, but usually have a much tougher time chasing me, and are generally much weaker this patch then they have been historically. Stam warden can be scary in the right hands, but less often for sure, and I only usually die to a Stam Warden if I’ve messed up.

Hey Grimm big fan. I play high tier BGs against really good players who consistently break free and dodge roll away from my Incap after I’ve stunned them with surprise attack. How can I land more incaps before they have a chance to break free and dodge roll? Would you recommend using the fully charged 120 ult incap to stun to initiate instead? Thanks

MOZARTUSS exactly- incap is way to slow to land after a stun. You want to start a combo with it. I try to cast incap as enemies are swapping from defense to offense to catch them out of a defensive state of mind.

Transitioning from Bowblade to Melee and I use the ring of the wild hunt. Here's the problem, I move so fast I have a hard time hitting my victims. Without the ring, I have a hard time keeping up, would you suggest swift traits instead? BTW, thanks for the great content!! Swift is not amazing because it’s such a steep opportunity cost. Either way the main thing that is going to help is practice and positioning. For that reason, I would practice without the ring, since you’ll generally have a stronger build without it.

Hey Grim, awesome videos. I have been devouring them all. learning so much. I do have a question about mitigating the zerg rush. OMG this mayhem event has opened all the flood gates and you think you're dealing with 5 or 6 guys, then bam there are 30 guys on top of you. I play on PS4 and moving the camera is slow as pulling a boot out of half frozen mud so keeping up situational awareness is at best difficult. Its been super frustrating not to mention those nasty 20 second load screens mid fight...WTF. Probably not much you can say to help me here except don't get zerged lol. As someone who has finally figured out how to actually deal damage I am now having some success in 1v2 and sometimes 3 and my wingmate and I have been having a blast doing some 2vx stuff, we always die, but we take some down. Second question is about CP. My wingmate is just 300+ and is not doing as well. I noticed as I was moving up in CP it was a horrible death fest until I got to about 700CP Is there a way for a lower CP player to actually take down a golded out 810 or are these just targets you don't touch until you get the CP?

Heyo! Great questions. Firstly about CP- cp is definitely a factor, there is no denying. An experienced player can play pretty well in the CP campaign starting around 500CP, but every point matters for sure. Ultimately for him it will come down to practice and leveling up- both will help a lot, but practice more so. As a pro tip to avoid getting zerged: try to pull your fights off the main road (tag people and run a little bit) just so that you’re out of eyesight of the normal path. You’ll still get zerged sometimes, but the more you can get off the main road the less often your enemy group will explode from 5 to 25 players.

J G good question. If I was running 2H and bow on a stam sorc, I might be tempted to try out my main nightblade build first (great mobility on stam sorc). My main concern would be damage mitigation since you’ll have to use dizzy and can’t dip out with cloak. For that reason I’d probably run either one defensive set, a heavy set, or a tad more resistance. Probably bloodspawn over Balorg (but it would take some testing). I think NMA front bar would still work well, and then I’d either double bar a fury/alchemist type set, or run either shacklebreaker or impreg for a bunch of tankiness with minimal loss to damage.

J G it’s totally possible, but it does have quite a learning curve. It will take some time to figure out what your exact limitations are. If you’re going to stay in an open field, fury might actually be a great choice for your play style in open world CP.

Druqz XBL off balance is a status effect that interacts with a few different mechanics in the game. You can set a player off balance a few ways: interrupting them with venom arrow, hitting a surprise attack from stealth, or using the CP passive “tactician” by roll dodging an ability. The CP passive “exploiter” increases damage against off balanced enemies by 10%, and while off-balanced, a medium or heavy attack will knock an off balance player down (with a 15 second cool down).

Bow/DW is for PvE, and Bow/2H is for PvP, though it has become more popular for PvE in recent months. The main difference maker for pvp is the “rally” ability, which provides a substantial bust heal (the other morphs offers a snare break, which is also a strong pvp options if you have additional healing- but that is class dependent). 2H also tends to be more bursty with high damage abilities like dizzy swing, and DW tends to be more DoT focused with abilities like tending slashes.

That’s a tough question. My advice would be to spread it around to avoid diminishing returns, but in similar proportions to my cp. also start with the big trees that have valuable passive buffs, then head over to smaller trees with only 30-60 points in them :)

Tristan Yang it’s tough to say without actually playing with you, but here is my advice: practice one combo- light attack- incap, light attack- relentless, light attack - execute. Practice that on a dummy for 15-20 solid minutes every day until you can do it without thinking about it. Then duel with a friend- go for the combo and if it doesn’t work reset, play defensively, and try it again.

Guru Deadlock it’s a lot stronger than it used to be, but it can be a lot tougher to make work against really good players, and it take more time to proc and setup. Balorg is just automatic.

Grimhallow you need more than 250 Ult to reach the wpn damage of MK which is procct from 2 light attacks. You will have a uptime from 100% with continuous Light attacks.

If you don't mind about a set buffing healing, just play essence thief, spriggan or shieldbreaker, these are more dmg (also essence help sustain a lot) and buff execute light/heavy attack

I agree with Erick here for sure- a big reason for running weapon damage is healing. Plus I’m really not sure how the damage added by class or damage type specific modifiers scales with things like continuous, rally, or any other buff.

Jm Guertin haha glad I could prove those guys wrong for ya. It’s definitely weaker than it was in the past, but if you build right and play well you can make it work for you! I’d still play Stamblade even if I was starting from scratch.

Hi I play on ps4 I have a hard time doing good at pvp due to all the builds out their rely on farmed armor gear. Everyone in ps4 are toxic a holes and hate me for no reason I have no one willing to help me farm gear despite me always helping people out. The games got really toxic on ps4. Can you help me with cp and and two crafting gear like tell me what I can use. I can craft almost any armor and any jewelry. So if you can tell me a two good crafting sets to use. I got mister sets like blood spawn troll king engine guardian sleena Malag tong. I’m max cp thanks. My stats are always terrible I never kill anyone.

like the video and not doubting ur skill,but damn these players were trash. sorc dying to la+surprise weaves likea dummy the other guy trying to rez with spellwall up just standing spamming regen and droping destro ult. almost like paid actors.

Norbertas Kaziukaitis players that get 1vXed are usually bad- I mean that just makes sense, it’s almost like the bar. If you can be 1vXed you’re probably not an amazing player yet- it’s a work in progress. Good players don’t chase in the first place (with a few notable exceptions). You can get 1vX type of fights on some better players occasionally, but they are less frequent and take waaaaay longer.
