Stamitz...and Telemann - adored these since early childhood, my oldest brother knowing this sent me tapes in my 30s, off the LPs he still had, of these two and others so loved, still loved. It transports me unspeakably, I cannot describe what that's like, I cannot. But who knows, knows as well.

I've heard this played live before but this sounds completely different. This is the first time I've head the piece the way it deserves to be played. Sounding fantastic bro

amazing playing! im currently learning walton and i just wanted to know how you play any fast passage whether its in stamitz walton or anything else with such ease? im getting very frustrated w my playing and have even considered quitting at one point.

You can always train your muscle memory by practicing that one section over and over slowly. And I know it feels like it’s gonna take forever but it actually works pretty quickly. Try it out and see what happens.

Some words of advice from someone learning the stamitz - if a section has really fast constant notes (like 16th notes) play them swung first. First play them like 16th + dotted 8th, and then like dotted 8th + 16th. This trains your muscles to go between any two notes in the passage up to tempo, making it a lot easier to put the whole thing together.

Did you compose the cadenza? It sounds amazing
@violaisreallycool Жыл бұрын
Possibly!! It sounds like the Meyer cadenza but altered of course! Extremely tasteful and well done too.
@emadzolfaghari8119 Жыл бұрын
I did not compose the cadenza, but it was recently composed by violist André Roy

Thank you so much!!! I currently play on a Michele de Luccia viola on loan from the Curtis Institute!

Who do you take your viola for adjustments? I also have a de Luccia viola and would love for the sound to be somewhat similar. What bow do you use?

Im learning viola ... I hope to sound like you one day. I have to practice like 48 hours a day haha

I think it's time for me to give up on the viola. Years younger than me, and a far superior sound already to what I'd be able to do with years more of practice. Wishing you luck on your journey, mine is over.
