this is helpful! I bought mine Saturday with that one day only 60% off coupon! first thing I noticed is that it seemed smaller than the standard MISTI but I wasn't sure by how much since I don't own that one. I have the mini MISTI and the giant 12x12 only cause a craft store was liquidating and I got them at a bargain. glad to have different sizes for different purposes...

Thanks for your great review! I sincerely appreciate all the time that goes into making these videos.I own both of the larger MISTI versions and have loved them. At the time I purchased them, they were the only tool of this type available and since I have a small card making business, I need something that helps me to mass produce stamped images. The MISTI and now the other versions of this tool fit this need perfectly. I love being able to know that I can stamp the same image over and over and know there is quality control. I have recommended it to others as well and they have also loved it. I will also consider buying this as a gift for stamping friends of mine who don't want to spend the extra money on the MISTI. It is also reasonable to know that others will copy and improve on the idea. I am anxious to see the Tim Holtz tool as I have been a fan of his products!

Thanks for the review. I wish I stumbled upon this the millions of times I've been in Michael's. I prefer the green over the pink too, but not sure I like that it's a bit smaller. I finally caved in when they had a sale and got myself a Misti some time ago!

I got this one and love it. they just came out with a larger one. there was no way I could justify misti.

I was looking for this at M's the other day but couldn't find it. Now I'm glad I didn't because Tim Holtz just announced he is releasing his own version called Stamp Platform and it looks better than both of these--AND it will only be $39.99!! Unfortunately it doesn't ship until April, but I'm going to wait. I'll keep using my DIY CD case for now lol.

The first thing I noticed with it being smaller than the regular MISTI is that it isn't wide enough to use 6x6 background stamps. I like using the MISTI for those because I tend to not stamp it well the first time so I can double stamp. I'm not sure I like the zero measurement on the long side especially since it isn't in the middle. I guess it would take getting used to when I'm familiar with my MISTI. Those are the only issues I see, but they may only matter to me.

Jana Hughes Hello. The Misti tool you have, is it the large one, like scrapbook ears use, or the Mini Misti? I'm still on the fence about this one from Hampton Art. It is a little smaller looking than the Mini Misti - looks like entire card front doesn't fit in measurement/stamping area. I'm still leaning toward the Mini Misti.
@pats72768 жыл бұрын
Jana Hughes Stamp Perfect has a new larger one. It's either 10x10 or 12x12 sorry I forget. I have the small one and love it.
@toniromero29148 жыл бұрын
Pat Snyder thank you Pat for your reply (even considering what I see now as auto correct error for scrapbook ears instead of scrapbook users - lol). I recently saw that Tim Holtz is now offering a stamp positioner as well, but doesn't look like his has the "foam" to use with photopolymer stamps as the others have. I wonder if that will be an issue...
@pats72768 жыл бұрын
Toni Romero I did see too he was going to have one, but didn't see enough about to make any comparison.
@toniromero29148 жыл бұрын
Thanks again Pat. I'm still on the fence. I know Tim Holtz's version will be out in a few months - anxious to see more comparisons. I just know I want one of these "positioners" of some sort... I think they are really useful.

Thanks for this. As My Sweet Petunia don't supply the Misti to UK craft stores, I'll be buying this! The cost of the Misti + postage from the States + the really bad value of sterling makes it very expensive. Having said that most UK retailers are selling the Stamp Perfect for about £28 which at today's exchange rate is about $35 :o

This item looks good. I never paid $110 for my Misti, though. I ordered direct from mysweetpetunia (who makes them). I paid $60 for the big one when they first came out which, I know, is still pricey but I feel I have gotten my money's worth from this stamp positioner. I'm going to check out my Michael's and see if they carry this one though. You can't beat the price!
@nasayi8 жыл бұрын
From what I understand, the price has gone up on all of them but the $110 I was referring to was for the really big one. I think it's for scrapbooking/stamping 12x12 pages. It now comes in three sizes now from what I can tell. :)

Carol Shafer - I was at the Michaels on Renaissance Pkwy in Durham, NC and they had them. I'm sure you'll be able to get them any day now. I'm anxious to try it out compared to my Misti. On a side note, with all the competition, I don't see how My Sweet Petunia can keep theirs at that high of a price point and continue staying in business much less make a profit...
@carolshafer42718 жыл бұрын
Liane Albert , I actually bought one from Amazon. Only tried it out. I don't have the Misti but the negative things I have found with this tool is its very messy inking up the stamps with the Stampin' Up regular size pads. Also the 2 magnets don't seem to hold the CS down very good
@nasayi8 жыл бұрын
Carol Shafer It's the same with the MISTI.... Mine is stained from not cleaning it right away as the directions say to do. I'm sure the Stamp Perfect will come to the same stained fate.

What about wood mounted stamps???
@nasayi8 жыл бұрын
What about wood stamps? I'm not sure I understand your question. Clear and cling mount stamps need something to mount to in order to stamp. Wood mounted stamps don't, they're already attached to a wood block. If you're asking specifically about re-stamping or alignment for wood mounted stamps I would suggest a stamp-a-ma-jig.
@anitaf56438 жыл бұрын
Wood mounted stamps would also need to be secured if one wanted to re-ink again correct? Thanks. Hope this makes sense.
@nasayi8 жыл бұрын
You don't need a mount, just something for realignment. Best option for wood mounts stamps is a stamp-a-ma-jig. You could use it for clear stamps too but you still need acrylic blocks to actually mount the stamps on for use. This is what it looks like..... amzn.to/2kgsXul

Get them while you can I here the owners of the MISTI sued and won - so these can no longer be made. I have 2 MISTI's the large and small and love them both - got this one to travel with - it's lighter but worked just as well... I found no difference with the hinges.
@michellerobison51118 жыл бұрын
You're not using your magnets. Do you think you need them?
@nasayi8 жыл бұрын
Michelle Robison If you want to make sure it doesn't move at all then use the magnets. I rarely use them but I think it's more personal preference. If I was stamping a lot I would probably use it.
@ccubito8 жыл бұрын
The grids on the MISTI are smaller which can give you more precise stamping. Also, its plastic cover is substantially thicker. Neverthelss, this is too much like the MISTI for me. The bigger company can outprice the smaller one that created the product. ☹️
@drwoo60908 жыл бұрын
How much, for the Misti? $110...omg, what a rip off. I made my own, from a hinged picture frame from ikea. Crafting is the in thing, and crafters are being taken advantage of. I know we don't have to buy things, but that doesn't mean companies can rip us of!
@pikeandike8 жыл бұрын
Dr Woo I bought my MISTI this time last year for $50 and they are $100 now for the 6x8 size (original)...yes, that is a rip off!
@toniromero29148 жыл бұрын
Dr Woo - it depends on the size. The "large" Misti tool is the one that is I've $100. The Mini Misti is the cheaper one, although still more expensive than this one from Hampton Art.
