Stampin Up and Close To My Heart | My Thoughts & A Few Updates

Hello Crafty Friends! I am sharing my thoughts with all the things going on with Stampin Up & Close To My Heart, along with a few updates of things that are happening around here!
To be clear I said in the video that Stampin Up "purchased CTMH" - I was speaking in general terms. CTMH is going out of business. Closing their doors, and will no longer be around in any shape or form. PERIOD. Stampin Up purchased several different aspects (not just a few stamp designs) of the business. It is complicated, there is a lot of information floating around both companies between demonstrators and makers that is not accurate.
I wasn't trying to share information that wasn't true. I was simply speaking in general terms because the majority of people, most people watching my videos, asking me questions are not interested in all the deep details. They just want to know what is generally going on, and what to expect.

CLARIFICATION: I was keeping it light, and speaking in gernal terms when I said "Purchased" CTMH. Stampin Up didn't purchase the entire company... however they also didn't "just purchase a few products" It really was some where in between, and I don't believe those details are interest to the mass majority of the public. It seems that lot of people are getting mad at me, and I've deleted several nasty comments over this. I didn't lie about anything, again I was speaking in the most general terms. As I have said in the comments I am sorry I wasn't clear about that detail, I wasn't expecting a bunch many CTMH people to even watch the video I was speaking more to my followers, and customer base as to what was happen, again in a very general sense, answer question as general as I could, and simply stated that I'm happy CTMH makers have a place to land, it is much better than having NO Place to go at all, and I'm also excited to see what Stampin Up does with a Scrapbooking / Memory-Keeping Line of there own.

We're trying to acclimate to a new company, so we search for videos that address this subject. To see our beloved company being lied about is not going to go over well. I think personally you should edit the video or take it down.

I didn't lie about anything. I've added a the clarification, and I have said I was sorry for not making sure I was more clear in my video. It might be nice if you extended some grace and kindness to other people. Stampin Up has done more, and is doing more than just "purchasing a few stamps and dies" I understand it can be frustrating when someone says something in a video differently then what or how you would share it. I've seen lots of videos about Stampin up, and people leaving Stampin Up and they state things that are untrue... but I don't have the right to tell them to take down their video, and you don't have the right to tell me that either. If you don't like what I have said in my video, if my apology is not sufficient enough for you the easiest thing to do would be to not watch my videos any longer. @@scottandrebeccalaird8577

I am excited to see what we’ve grown to love from CTMH live on under the name of SU. I am sorry you are getting some nasty comments, as a Maker I do not think you were misleading. I am also impressed with your honesty in regards to recommending people not sign up under you and instead, someone who is an active team leader.

Thanks so much, Erin for leaving a comment and your kind words. My heart desire is for anyone coming over from close to my heart who is actively pursuing a business to be successful. I want to see everyone make it through this and be able to settle in. I know that it is not an easy place to be. I’m not terribly worried about the comments. I know everyone’s emotions are high. It’s a lot to go through.

As a clarification SU is not buying CTMH. CTMH is closing its doors. SU is purchasing some of ctmh’s scrapbooking product line and hopefully SU will carry on a memory keeping line. CTMH’s scrapbooking line is amazing. I am glad that you support and have championed the importance of memory keeping.

Yes, I was so sorry. I should’ve clarified that better. It just seemed like the easiest thing to say for most people to understand is that they’re basically buying stuff from close to my heart that they will sell lol There’s also some conditions regarding purchasing or being able to purchase or being able to bring over makers… I guess lots of complicated things that don’t really matter at the end of the day we’re just going to get to be creative with lots of beautiful product!!!! It's great to hear that Stampin Up will be leaning a bit more toward the memory keeping in the future. I have been using Stampin Up for many many years and have always wanted them to carry more of memory keeping products. I make very few cards , mainly when I go to the SU parties. Scrappbooking is my passion. I have seen lots of Close to my Heart vedios and liked many of the products. But, couldn't afford to do both. My SU demonstrator just lives very close by. So every month we have a get togather. I agree with you that their card stock was not good. To get the 12x12 I will go to stores to pick that up. Stampin up is also doing some changes to the customer side of the party. I am sure we will just bave to gjve them time to to get things ironed out. Just hope that more memory products show up. Thanks for your vedios I really enjoy them when I watch. I love your voice and you do such a great job explaing things. I like the organizational ones too. I under stand about the shipping SU shipping is high and may get worse. Sorry I rambled on. But, just wanted you to know I am glad you will still be round. Take care!!!

Yes, I am so happy that Stampin UP! will be bringing in more memory keeping products and inspiration. I hope that they hire some of the close to my heart artists as they are amazing and Stampin UP! would be lucky to have many of them.

I am happy that they have a place to land as Makers, and I'm happy to see Stampin Up doing something I have wanted them to do for years which is have more scrapbooking / memory-keeping options. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes our way.

🎉 I’ve been an off & on hobbyist SU demo for 22 yrs who started for primarily memory keeping. I LOVED the Stampin Memories catalogs ❤ from 2002-2005. My bestie was a Maker. I love both companies. Am so happy SU is helping some CTMH live on. Thx for the info!!

I’m a Stampin’ Up demonstrator but I know people in close to my heart and I also buy CTMH because I am getting back into scrapbooking and they just have everything very available where is Stampin’ Up doesn’t anymore. Stampin’ Up is geared more to Card but I do know that there are people who do scrapbooking in Stampin’ Up I just can’t find them all, so I am glad that Stampin’ Up has decided to incorporate some of CTMH because it would be sad. If it all went away it’s a company that’s been out there for a long time and it was very difficult for the owner to make this decision because I know that she’s worried about her makers and her customers and Everything, so yeah I understand how difficult this is.

It is very difficult for everyone. So much stuff happening, and things that not everyone will understand all of. I am hoping the next few months for Makers will be as smooth as it can be.

To me the new Stampin up catalog looks like a homeschool catalog! Really disappointed with it.

I agree. I feel very disappointed at this new catalog. In fact when I made the list of items that I wanted, I was literally shocked to see that there is only one bundle, one punch and another guy that I’m interested in purchasing. In fact, I have several hundred dollars and credit for product that I earned over the last few months and not enough enough product to buy. I am planning on getting the colors and all of the stock because I think the colors are beautiful and I have some plans and the future that I’m hoping will work out. But besides that I won’t really be purchasing anything from this catalog. Online exclusives and the product that is coming from close to my heart will be amazing and I will purchase those items instead

as a CTMH maker... I know we ahve been told SU has bought product lines and product licencing, and propiertary items etc... but we haven't been bought out by SU.. the business will close.. makers are not bound by SU.. but have had a lovely offer by SU to join over.. but We haven't been bought out by SU..

I personally feel like out of everyone Ronda Wade has the best most versatile business training and system. I personally wouldn’t join with Janet or Angie either one when it comes to business training needs or desires.

Been looking for “Pine Green” colored paper, and found it on Stampin Up website, but they won’t sell it to me? (Why, show it?) I quit shopping at a donut maker and refuse to buy fundraiser donuts now, because while at a store, on vacation, they wouldn’t sell a plain cream filled?

It’s because it’s a close to my heart product and unless you had an account with close to my heart, you cannot purchase the product from Stampin UP!.

Sad close to my heart is closing downi n fact gutted, waited 15 years for to sell here. and come to the UK .my friend is a maker and she wont switch to SU her personal decision . There has been a lot of makers upset with videos explaining false info and it is not all negative but a tender approach is needed at this very difficult time .Has a SU demo i too have tried to keep asking for SU to make more masculine designs i feel discriminated and this has fallen on deaf ears. Due to recent events and price increases in May which we had last year .i wont be hanging around forever so i personally feel it is not all positive for All under the SU Umbrella . For you it is positive , because SU will adapt , and are now having to change and add more memory keeping products to their line of inventory. Im guessing only time will tell if the sales are good on scrapbooking Su has always bee dominant on cardmaking.

Yes, for sure it is a very tender time, and it is very hard what CTMH makers are going through. Thank goodness there is some place for them to land, and they are not just waking with with the news that the doors are shutting and they have no place to go. I've learned that whatever is happening around with whatever company or issues I'm facing it can be as possitive or as negaitive as I want it to be. If Stampin Up is no longer for someone they don't have to stay, and that is okay. There are so many other options out in the world today. I don't think any Stampin Up demonstartor is just happily taking advanage of any sistution anyone is facing. However it is okay to be excited about the future not only with the products, but also with the Makers that are coming over to Stampin Up!

Yes, they had a brief partnership with Becky Higgins. When that ended, they started selling their own pocketed pieces for memory keeping.

@@KatinaMartinez-01 which there own weren’t great. I agree with how SU changed how they sell there card stock was disappointing to those that wanted to buy in a full pkg for classes. I was a SU demo for 10 years (+) then quit. I have to much unused SU products not used but I had to make my quarterly quota. I’m hoping to sell most of it. I’ve been trying to switch over to other brands. SU has really changed over the years, with offering less to there demos unless they get recruits, and so on. I have been on the fence about purchasing CTMH ink pads but they look a lot easier to open then SU’s. I really enjoyed your room tour video.
