Robyn, I have watched so many of your videos over the past two years and I absolutely love everything you do. So many of your videos have such an element of teaching to them, such as this color wheel video and your focal point cluster videos. As an educator, math is my thing, I truly believe you should be in the classroom, teaching art, design, and even yearbook. You have such an ability to teach in such a calm, clear manner that I know children anywhere would benefit from you. Thanks for all you share!

Hello Angie and thank you so much for your feedback and encouragement. I have an elementary teaching degree which I have used in all kinds of ways but never as a regular classroom teacher. Most recently I was the director of an afterschool dyslexia tutoring program where I trained adults to become tutors for the children we served. So rewarding. I am still tutoring one-on-one, and so blessed at all the opportunities I've had to be an educator like YOU! 😊

I have known color theory for years but never understood how to actually do something with it. In using any color palette, even monochromatic and analogous schemes that are close to each other, you have to have a main color used in greater amounts in order to make a design work. You have beautifully and realistically shown that in your cards!

Love the two roses/big flowers! I was on a quilting cruise years ago with Doreen Speckman and we were choosing from the farics that we had bought from home with no clue what the project would be, but we had been told pale, medium and dark. A woman that was working at my table asked Doreen what fabrics she should use. She showed her something like 10 gorgeous (and expensive) fabrics all in t he same print but in different jewel tones, in other words all dark. The first thing Doreen asked was who picked the fabric out. This woman said it was the quilt store lady. She had absolutely NO confidence in herself and her color sense. Even so, she had on clothing that matched well. Unless someone else was dressing her, she had enough color sense to have he clothing coordinating. She needed some color theory, especially since I had gotten my fabric at a 5 and 10 in town with a very small selection of quilting fabrtic. I could barely afford the cruise, much less to buy expencive fabrics for it. Color wheels can help you out, but you have to have the confidence to trust your instincts in the end. If I ever got feeling good enough, I would love to write a quilting book one colors in quilts. There will not be a single color wheel in the book as color wheels completely leave out neutrals, browns, etc. Sorry I talk too much. I do like the cards made with three layers. I had no clue what you were talking about it and had to see you put them together.

Robin, I love your work, but I have to use my Misti stamp positioner. I even use it with the red rubber stamps. My hands are too shaky to hold those blocks! Besides, I can touch things up if needed and create multiple sets easier. Sorry about the construction chaos! I was actually forced out of my home when our one bathroom was remodeled. I dpent 3 weeks at Mom's. We had a giant Magnolia tree 🌳 destroy our main water pipe! But now we have a lovely space, and I really appreciate it! If it weren't for the tree, I would still have the old fixtures!

I am new to stamping and I find that when I try to stamp, I never get a good clear stamp. I hear about that You should prepare your polymer stamps first before you start. Is that true? Do you prepare your new stamps before you use them and if so, how?
@reallyrobinstamps5 ай бұрын
Hello! I should have addressed this. Honestly, the easiest way is to roughly rub the photopolymer on your skin (like your arm). I also have just rubbed onto my scratch paper until the shine comes off the image.
