This was a great listen! Thanks for showing in detail the way you think about stamps. A great tool got even greater because of this! Also a conversational podcast about compositing is something that is sorely missing from the web landscape. Cheers

Great stuff, super insightful and informative! I feel that Stamps do get overlooked by many, so it was great that you guys went into detail. Cheers

I don't understand everything yet, but there is a structure that I like. I will look at the video explanation about the STAMP. I only have non-commercial Nuke for the moment. But as soon I have a job with the complete license of Nuke. I will see how to use this usefully. Thank you for the sharing, such a rich and generous community. Really appreciated.

Tony, what's it the "Massive Panel Pyside" that I see on your nuke?
@CompositingMentor5 ай бұрын
It’s a nifty panel for quickly manipulating nodes with python. It’s made by Alexey Kuchinski, you can grab it from nukepedia

Really interesting way of comping - I will integrate this into my work. Also, silly question but how do u make ur backdrops but name them beforehand?
@CompositingMentor5 ай бұрын
There are many “autoBackdrop” tools out there on nukepedia and elsewhere. Mine is custom, from a few different tools spliced together. My special sauce is i am determining the size of the text based on how far apart nodes are in X in the nodegraph. So the farther apart in x your selection, the bigger the text. It’s not perfect, but saves me a lot of time. I have been meaning to completely polish the backdrop tool and make a nicer version for release. Maybe one day… 😅

@@CompositingMentor Ah okayy, I wasn't sure if it was a neat shortcut but this makes sense. I'll have a look on Nukepedia. Thanks Tony! Keep killing it XD

Is there a link to the video for the workshop you two are referencing that I can watch somewhere? The classic way of comping, the smart way, and the "sophisticated way"? I like the idea of that asset promotion, and I'm wondering what other gems i might be missing. Thanks!

Stamps are really a way to make things easier for people that don't know how to comp cleanely. There is never a good reason to do a hidden input instead of a clean line with a dot to create a corner.

stick around for part 2! There are plenty of good reasons, and I lay all of them out in detail
