I wouldn't be surprised if Stan came up with Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm after watching a Bonanza episode back in the late fifties-early sixties, The Thing and The Torch remind me so much of Little Joe and Hoss Cartwright, their bickerings as well !

Fantastic Four was a great Marvel Comic it started the Marvel Universe

X-men wasn't totally different. Cyclops copies an earlier character called the Comet that shot a disintegrater beam from his eyes through a visor. Also movie Robot in the day the earth stood still is similar shot beam from visor also. Prof. Xavier a bald headed guy that controls minds was similar to puppet master in Fantastic Four. Iceman reverse of Human torch cold instead of heat. Earlier ice characters existed in fiction such as Jack frost and Frost Giants. Marvel girl uses an invisible force to move things. the Beast is strong sort of like the Thing although not as strong. Also in title Xmen. Fantastic Four had saved the people of planet X, which might also be called X-men.

Ming the Merciless in Flash Gordon was king or Emperor of his own country on another planet. Almost everything in Incredibles came from Fantastic Four and other comics. Stretching character like Reed, although called Elasti-Girl the name of character in DC comics the Doom Patrol. strong character like Ben, or Superman, although called Mr. Incredible sort of as Reed is called Mr. Fantastic. Violet turns invisible and makes force fields like the invisible girl. The robot Mr. Incredible fought had arms similar to Dr. Octopuss Mechanical arms. Of course Freezone copies Iceman or Capt. Cold, and Dash runs fast like Flash or Kid Flash in DC comic. Dash is also spelled similar to Flash.
