Thanks for finding this one and reacting to it! Seems it was overlooked by a lot of reactors due to it being in vertical format filmed at their mall as most of their minis/shorts are. This is so stunning it is the only version of this song I want to hear. Mykal was an original founding member of the quartet they formed in high school called '4theLove' that would sing in the school restroom and on street corner's in front of businesses. Mykal left the group to pursue a career on Broadway and has become very successful. Hoping to see more of Mykal as a featured guest when he is available as he is so good with them because the love and friendship is genuine. I always enjoy your Voice Play and solo Geoff reactions- thanks!

I had been hoping that VoicePlay would cover "Stand By Me" eventually. Mykal was the perfect collaborator for this one. I love it that in this format, they are quite literally standing by each other. A lovely song with a beautiful message about true friendship.

Mykal was only able to be in town for a couple days, so they filmed Be Prepared and this one very quickly. (Thus the decision to film this one in this format ) Although Mykal was a founding member of VoicePlay, along with Geoff and Layne, and he also knew Eli, he didn’t meet Cesar until the two days they filmed. They quickly became close, and the hug and feelings at the end of this were real. The magic of VoicePlay!

I'm with you on it being the most beautiful version of a great song. And our guys are the ones that did it. To me, the vertical format lent itself well to Stand By Me - loved when Cesar was in the middle and he reached forward to tap Eli and Mykal on their shoulders, then turned his head to look at Geoff and then Layne. Mykal gave him a hug. Mykal was one of the original members and he of course knew Geoff, Layne and Eli. He didn't know Cesar but they became fast friends. Love this.
