Grinned all the way through the first time I watched it, then cried the next ten times, back and forth since then. Mykal was their first high tenor, which made Earl the second tenor! Mykal left for Broadway after a couple of years and has been very successful since then. Yes, do Be Prepared. It is so much fun! Great reaction, Dennis!!

I had been hoping that VoicePlay would cover "Stand By Me" eventually. Mykal was the perfect collaborator for this one. Cool that he was one of their founding members in high school and just after before he left for his Broadway career. Apparently they sang this back in the early days when he was with the group. A lovely song with a beautiful message about true friendship. Always great to hear Layne singing with the guys in addition to his stellar beatboxing. Thanks for this reaction! Yes, please do "Be Prepared!" It was their September release, not their Halloween release anyway. It's on VoicePlay's new villains CD too.

Glad you couldn't see my face when you guessed that Mykal is a "Tenor 2." I just smirked and thought, "Oooh, just you wait, Dennis!" Great reaction. I've had the song on repeat since yesterday but yours is only the second reaction I've seen, and that's because I saw the thumbnail for the other one first. I'm glad you mentioned the message of the song. Love, love, love when Cesar is in the middle and he first looks down at Mykal and Eli and then looks back and to each side at Layne and Geoff while he sings, "I won't be afraid, just as long as you stand by me." Then when Mykal reaches around Cesar's shoulder at the end, I couldn't stop smiling. We all need that support from others!

Yeah, I'm on the "pro side" for "Be Prapered", too. It's not the Halloween song from VP (that was "Thriller" by M.J.). So it's a Disney song, sometimes underestimated (due to "Circle of Life" or or "Hakuna Matata" as THE iconic songs from the Lion King) , but definitely worth watching all time of year. 👍

Yes, please do Be Prepared! Next year is so far away, and I really think you would enjoy it! It's not really a Halloween song, it's from the Lion King. Not really as scary or Halloween-y LOL. I understand about the seasonal allergies, I can't stop coughing. Never smoked a day in my life and I sound like I smoked 20 packs a day. Drink a lot of warm drinks, soup, etc. and feel better soon. Sorry you had a funeral to attend, my condolences.

Yes, do Be Prepared now. It is theatrical, not seasonal. Mykal was one of the founding members back in high school when they were a barbershop quartet called 4theLove. Mykal was Tenor 1 and Earl was Tenor 2. (!)

Yes. Please do Be Prepared. It wasn't Halloween. It was released in September. Mykal is one the original founding members with Geoff, Layne and Earl back 1997 under the name "4thelove". They sang on street corners and in front of businesses. In 2000 Scott Porter joined and they changed to "4:2:Five". He left for a very successful Broadway career in 2002. Be Prepared is the first video they did "together" since he left the group. He played one of the Hyenas. So didn't get to sing a whole lot. They promised to bring him back to showcase his beautiful voice. They decided to do this format to show him how they do their shorts in the mall. This song is one of the songs that they used to sing alot when they were together. So was fitting they did it now. They did Just Sing but everyone were in separate places. I hope Mykal does more with VP. He has such a beautiful voice.
