Hardly a myth. Many of the most famous last words in history are actually falsehoods, exaggerations, or impossible to verify. There were three newspapermen on the floor of the gallows at his execution that heard Ned mumble 'something'. If it was 'oh well i suppose it has come to this at last' or 'such is life' it all means the same thing, it is not a myth, simply impossible to verify.

I also point out that the allegation there were 32,000 who signed a petition asking for a reprieve for Ned Kelly is a myth. That document is still in the possession of Records, Victoria and there are just 12,400 signatures on that document. Pages and pages were written in the same hand-writing, and it is estimated by professional historians that the actual number of real signatures is about 4,000.

They were shot in self defense, they didnt Murder anyone As for the robbery, if you're being pursued by corrupt cops and cant earn an honest living because of it, then Id say that robbery is fair enough under those circumstances. If Ned Kelly was hounded, and he openly stated that he had stolen 280 horses, how come he was only ever charged with one count of horse stealing? That really looks like he was hounded, doesn't it? Noelene also claims that the police came from England. 82% of the police in Victoria at that time were of Irish background. The Royal Commission into Victoria police held in 1881, with almost all the commissioners anti-police, found that the police acted properly regarding the Kelly's extensive criminality. More lies and fiction from that clan.
