Luv your videos Jay and Atticus looks like he is having a blast. My SS P/S named Schultz was also surrounded by forest settings where he had great times being offleash. Yes he was also extremely handsome a real thinker and I was extremely proud to be his owner. He was extremely well thought of in the dog community. I miss him terribly. Am researching currently and in 2025 hope to get a black SS. I live in Calgary, Alberta where my backyard is a provincial park thus a lot of off leash. Great to see he has recovered, important to stretch before engaging in sprints …😉

Erie, PA i have a 3 yo Standard and 8 yo miniature. Love both schnauzer breeds . Aticus is stunning and well behaved.❤ My standard Ella loves to run and run, needs her moring and afternoon walks or she is crazy😂. Potential buyers need to understand the standard, giant are very different than the miniatures. Too smart sometimes😅. All 3 schnauzers are different breeds, with different traits.

How do I train my one year old Standard to be as obedient as yours. He's fine on a leash but runs wild when off. I can call him all day but he won't come until HE is ready.

I have countless hours of training invested in Atticus. He is my only pet, and I have been working with him since he was 4 months old. I trained him myself in basic obedience and then trained him on an e-collar. Standard Schnauzers are Extremely smart, but do require a lot of patience... they are not a beginner dog! My wife and I are researching a few breeds, the Giant and Standard schnauzer among them. We currently have a Shar Pei mix who also has a ton of energy but also pretty strong guarding instincts. Ideally we want a dog that has similar behavioral traits and energy levels as our current dog. In your experience does the Standard have strong guarding instincts like the Giant does? I have worked with a few Minis but their temperament are really quite different from the Giants

I actually wanted the same in a dog when I was researching breeds prior to getting Atticus. Standard Schnauzers have strong guarding instincts for their household and family members. I socialize him a lot and have since he was a puppy. He is very friendly with people overall, but yes strong guarding instinct. I hope that helps and thank you for checking out our channel!

I have spent countless hours training Atticus.. thousands of hours of one on one time. Anyone can really have the results you see that I have with Atticus. It takes a lot of time ... AND PATIENCE. 😊
