I havent enjoyed a lens review this much in a long time, maybe ever. And I wouldn't want you to die, so I subscribed. But watch out for that hill in the background on the outdoor shots. Awesome video! Have you compared the 14mm to the Pana Leica 15mm? I'm trying to decide if the 15mm is worth double the price. I don't shoot in low light often so the extra stop isn't a big deal. However, better color would be worth it. I'm a beginner and don't shoot raw or do post processing.

Excelent video man! Great sense of humor and i`m glad it is not only in Russia we are trolling our post office =) As for the lense, how good\bad it is in low light situations(like shooting photos\videos inside apartments, evening shots etc) in comparison to kit lens 3.5(which shots are unusable if made without flash\tripod)? Just wondering if i can live with that 14mm 2.5 instead of buying a quite expensive 15mm 1.7
@SwedishFilmmaker4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I basically never shoot in low light nowadays, mostly because I enjoy lighting scenes but the GH4 is what it is in the dark as well. If you can't control the lighting then the 15mm F1.7 would definitely be a better choice.
@Sam-vi2ho4 жыл бұрын
Everything that comes into europe from the outside basically has to go through customs = gets handling and customs fee UNLESS the company you purchased from lied on their customs declaration formula (or the item is too worthless/cheap), which is very common and they most likely did if you only had to pay 13$ extra on a 100+$ item.

This video was shot on the GH4 and some scenes has the 4K crop I guess. It should look even wider on the GH5S with it's 1.8X crop instead of the regular 2x but I'm no expert on that camera.

Truly epic! That's refreshing style of review, nice bit of Nordic pessimism, and funny...I have the 15mm and love it but only just getting to grips with focal lengths for interviews, The 45mm looks good and the 24mm will probably do for me for the most part.

Hi i am thinking of buying this lens for wide shots on my vacation, how would you say it compares to the 25mm 1.7? I have seen so many good reviews on both and I don’t know which is right for the kind of shots I want
@SwedishFilmmaker5 жыл бұрын
The advantages with an F1.7 vs F2.5 aperture speaks for itself BUT 25mm is not wide on a M43 camera. 25mm is more like a 50mm and 14mm is like a 28mm (the full frame equivalence nonsense and so forth) 👍
@cieram82265 жыл бұрын
@@SwedishFilmmaker thank you for the response! amazing voice
@SwedishFilmmaker5 жыл бұрын
@@cieram8226 When using a wider lens you can achieve some blurry "backgroundness" when having it really close to to the subject but it will resulst in some kind of distortion and the 14mm is not terrible in that department but not great either. Maybe you should look into the Leica 15mm F1.7 instead?
