@@Cranndaddy: Comedians can say a single swear word just right and half the audience will laugh! I think it is MUCH harder to be funny clean.
@paulj6805 Жыл бұрын
@@b-radg916idk, I think it depends on the person. What's funny about THIS MAN is his deadpan humored and calm demeanor, expressing clever observations that are, in retrospect, very obvious and true. Another comic may be absolutely HILARIOUS just walking back and forth on stage, yelling "GOD.... DAMN!!!" I think the true mark of success in comedy is understanding yourself, your image, and how you come across. And utilizing that knowledge to enhance your own comedic nature. For some, that's being calm and deadpan, for some that's boisterous cursing. But I don't think this dude's would be funny at all if he paced back and forth shouting curse words. You know?

@@PatriciaKeel-ig9ni Yep. I think they try that more heavily with English(& mathematics). I went in early 2000s, the test was BASIC, similar to a highschool equivalency test/GED! --I enjoy writing & knew I had 2wks to opt out, so I decided to chk it out. --Thinking it might be setup to help us learn about constructing various types of papers, research, argumentative, analytical. Help explain/improve the various formats required for each(citations, data gathering, & whatnot).--BUT it was NOT. They had students FAILING over HOMONYMS; they're, their, there & allowed vs aloud, hear vs here?! --I'm epileptic, had just recovered from a bad wreck & labeled disabled, so I was just looking for something productive to do. --My 1st day, I made a "joke" about the class(said something like,"they don't think we know what a paragraph is" & one of the older ladies said she DIDN'T, so I told her)! --She said I made things sound so simple & asked to sit next to me. I felt compelled to stay there. It was a late class & I had time inbetween, so I asked ppl to join me for a study group.

@@PatriciaKeel-ig9ni Most students were highly intelligent. They just couldn't write; it was bizarre. --I was trying to read over a guys "explanatory paper", but he had random words thrown about, misusing things like "whereas", "regardless", "furthermore". --The paper was nonsensical. I asked him to EXPLAIN it to me as if I know nothing about it, bcuz I didn't. He began going into all sorts of things like physics & thermodynamics just step by step. --It was incredible & he spoke passionately about it, but none of that was in the paper. I was in awe.
